Corvida, I think you're right too. It is a generational thing, but I'm just not convinced it's as revolutionary as everyone says it is. A lot of the new 'social apps' feel like newsgroups with shinier shoes. Jeeze that makes me sound old!

I recon they're probably doing some sort of A/B testing of a new design, only showing a certain small percentage of viewers the new design. They've probably dropped a cookie onto your computer when you saw it the 1st time, which is why you keep seeing it while others don't.

I do wish that services like Disqus would think about using Gravatar for the profile images rather than hosting themselves, or at least allowing you to enter a url as the source of the image

even more awesome (though way more complicated) would be if a FF user has a Disqus-enabled blog, that it would pull back the comments as comments on FF when that post gets aggregated. That would just be scary!

Good to know. I've decided to bit the bullet & go with disqus anyway. The FriendFeed inclusion was the tipping point for me. Now I'm just waiting for them to enable 2-way commenting like they have with Twitter!

I'm setting the script to run every hour, I figure that should be fast enough for most people. If there's enough interest, I suppose it could be configurable from the admin section.

That's a new one! Unfortunately my host is still running in PHP4, so I
can't debug PHP5, but I've updated the plugin in the zip file, so if you
download it again it *should* have that problem fixed.

I just had the same problem on my site, then the comment count just started working, but I had no idea why. I just now realised that I added the wp_footer() call in because the new template didn't have it. Yay for fixing 2 bugs at the same time!

Yes this is a known bug, I'm looking at options to solve this at the moment. Currently it should only be an issue if 2 posts have the same name

Well, that's a bit odd. Can you post a link showing this happening, I might be able to get a better idea why.

Also, I've just checked in an update to the plugin that checks that the service url from FriendFeed is the same as the blog url. I haven't released the update yet, but you can grab the file from here is you want: http://svn.wp-plugins.org/f...

I've added a 'reset' button on the plugin's admin page. This will let you clear out all the information it's stored & reload it all from FriendFeed. Hopefully this should fix this bug.

Ok, I think I know what the problem is, the cyrillic is freaking out my
script!

I'm normalising the title of each post by removing non-alphanumeric
characters, of course being the anglo-centric bigot that I am, I'm just
removing non-latin alpha characters. I've checked in an update that doesn't
do that, can you try again? Sorry for the hassle

I'm afraid not, the disqus script loads up an iframe that's run from their
servers, the friendfeed script is generated from your blog when it runs

OK, one more go, I've checked in a heap of tidy up changes & fixes along with some serious debug information.

If this doesn't work, please tick the 'show debug info' checkbox in the options page & click the reset button & send what it shows you to me. Hopefully that will give me enough details to see what's going on
