Thanks for satisfying the voyeur in us. Again, congrats on breaking away from NonSociety. Your honesty is refreshing.

Who really cares if she didn't have anything to do with the format or design? 99% of bloggers don't do any of their own design or coding. Hello, that's what tumblr templates are for.

Alana Joy She listed that as something SHE did, so that is why I am asking about it. Had that not been listed here, I wouldn't care or ask.

Hey Mary, Australia sounds incredible. Can you do me a big favor -- when you do manage to make plans, can you post the cost details? I've always been curious what kind of deals (or non-deals) other people manage to find because I am the idiot who ALWAYS manages to overpay for everything. Thanks for any tips.

Mary, it seems you're still getting some residual flack from your stint at NonSociety. Julia made the horrible, horrible mistake of setting you three girls up as experts versus young women eager to share their lives. She attempted to make NonSociety into a web-based The View, and thus, readers and viewers held you guys accountable to standards other bloggers don't have to meet.

I approach your new blog with the spirit that it is, well, a blog. You're not shilling shit at us (no Blueprint cleanses, right?), at least not yet, you're not pretending to be a "dating expert" or a "tech expert" or a "style expert." Instead, you're presenting yourself as a girl who happens to have a lot of opinions and advice to share -- but from a personal platform, not some higher plane Julia imagines NonSociety sits on.

I hope that makes sense. I follow you with great interest -- it's like a voyeuristic thing. That's really what blogs are. So thanks for having us along for the ride.

It's too bad every few posts it seems somebody demands you explain this or that. I do have one question, though: do you plan to have any connection with Julia at all after the TMI contract is over?

You've accomplished huge amounts of stuff for your age: launched a handbag line, kinda sorta almost starred on a reality show (although you don't talk about it -- you shouldn't be embarrassed, though, as I thought it looked cool!), managed to live in NYC which is no small feat. So I wish you continued success.

in EVOLVING AS A BLOGGER - HOW I STARTED AND WHERE I AM NOW on More Than Mary
Mary, I am one of those people who has sent you a critical email (which I hope was not rude, however). You clearly have addressed my comments, although at the time I hadn't felt you even heard them. I want to thank you for listening to your readers. Obviously there's all kinds of criticism out there, relevant and just plain mean, and you've taken it and managed to come out a class-act. I have no kind words to bestow upon Julia, but I just want to tell you how many kudos you deserve for breaking away from NonSociety. I started out as one of your critics, but I'm now a fan. I really am, and I truly wish you the best.

Mary Rambin I am a true believer in being brutally honest. And it's those emails that show you care and push me to a better place, not only as a blogger, but as a person. So I read them with a fine tooth comb and truly attempt to improve when I feel it's necessary.

So thank you to everyone who took the time to write and say, you know what, you need to listen up and change your act lady.

Mary, thank God you spun away from those two loonies, Meghan Asha and Julia Allison. You are a class act for not bad-mouthing them, although come to think of it, that would just make me like you more. Good luck on your latest venture. You look beautiful, speak well, and undoubtedly will be a success. This is the best career move you could've made. My kindest regards to you.

The odds of winning with IWON are horribly slim but some of the games are fun. Check out http://farrwestview.blogspot.com for hints on IWON gaming.

Yeah, they're going to do "what's right for the campaign." I didn't hear "good for the country" in there.

in Patch Your (non-DJBDNS) Server Now. Dan Was Right. I Was Wrong. on Matasano Chargen
Guys, I have been put in a very sensitive situation because of this. How do you expect me (a non-DNS nor DNS security expert) to go to our CTO (who helped draft the RFC for DNS) and tell him we need to patch, but there are no details available? Heresy!

Please don't take this the wrong way (I only mean this as positive/constructive criticism)
I'm not trying to sound like a stickler but, many [actually almost all] of the stories/topics you guys talked about had flagrant factual/fundamental errors in them. One example was the last topic about the Air Force botnet; someone said that they were talking about using every computer in the US in the botnet and then the conversation just went south from there. The whole deal w/the Air Force botnet was that they wanted to use every and only military computers in that project. Another example is when someone said that it was ok to use a short password (dog) if you are using two-factor authentication. Last example, someone said that AES could be cracked in four or five years and that just made me cringe. I guess my point isn't to pick out flaws but, maybe to encourage you guys to do just a little more research before discussing something technical. As podcasters, (whether you like it or not) you guys are viewed as authorities on security and there's a responsibility that goes with that. No hard feelings I hope. :)
