Thanks for the great feedback and review! You mentioned the concern about revealing too much info in a BudURL. You can add a question mark (?) to the end of any BudURL to be taken to a preview page rather than a straight redirect. We're working on adding in future privacy measures as well. Adding a "/s" to the end of a budurl will show you the click-count, but detailed stats are only available for registered users.

More analytics insight and reporting will be coming over the next two weeks + a lot more visual enhancements.

We have received great feedback so far from our subscribers and are adding in their features as fast as we can.

When your site is spidered, the real value goes to the destination URL, not the BudURL. This is entirely intentional as we don't want to capture your hard-earned efforts. We just want to make tracking even better!

I received several messages via social networks about BazaarVoice opportunities through the campaign. It was well executed and I'm glad it worked so well. As I saw this happening, I saw plain links being sent directing the traffic. I was curious what additional insight into the social networking experiment would have been available if they had used BudURL.com to send out the links. Then they could have seen where the traffic spread, which social network generated the most referrals, and where the messages may have spread beyond the initial posts.

Just a thought!

Thanks for including BudURL in your survey! One clarification is that we use a 307 redirect instead of a 301 redirect on purpose. Our research shows that this is a more powerful redirect method for tracking purposes and provides even better SEO pass-thru. This is the redirect methodology used by Google, Blogger, and Feedburner.
