To say that most cops are sadistic idiots is ridiculous and unfair. You should be thankful that there are people who are willing to put their lives on the line for the rest of us every single day, in most cases making less money than many of the people that they are protecting who have nice safe jobs.

I am still trying to understand how this kid became anything more than a criminal on the run that should be caught. Stealing is illegal, destroying other people's property is not only illegal but immoral. What gives him the right to steal things from others and destroy them.

Last, he has fired a gun at the police. Are you kidding me, he's lucky he's not dead. What if he had hit one of the cops and killed him. What if that cop had a family, a wife, kids, etc. All now alone because this punk kid is out for a job ride and some ridiculous notion that he's a modern day Jesse James? He'l get caught or killed and deserves whatever punishment he receives.

Agreed, I attempted to write something of the sort a few months back(not for publication such as this) but it didn't turn out right. I spent my last few months in my youth group noticing this same obsession. It really tears the Church apart sometimes. Leadership is often just for the sake of having leadership rather edifying the church. Good read.

Someone makes a snarky remark on Twitter, and this woman goes berserk and calls him at work? David's remark wasn't even that bad - I've said much worse things to my friends as a passing joke.

It's like a bad episode of Jerry Springer, or a Howard Stern prank gone wrong. But then again, I suppose that make for good reading.

Moral of this story: Jerry Springer is way cooler than CBS News!

Let me tell you how apple and xbox (Microsoft) are similar. They Iphone and Xbox 360 are both computers. Xbox 360 Specializes in gaming and Iphone is well a phone. Both devices can run apps and the owners of the Companies both sell apps for each device. Apple is monopolizing in the same way Microsoft is...by eleminating the competition. However in this way I believe that if a device is sold in a retail store such as wal-mart and is designed for the xbox 360 then that device is essentially dead. It can't work BECAUSE of Microsoft that is creating a monopoly and I think Microsoft is gonna take a hit legally for this.

This is a real shame they have panicked in this way. Andrew Neil always makes corny introductions for Portillo and Abbott and this was just another one. It was so inoffensive, I didn't even notice it when I watched This Week on Thursday which is incidentally one of the Beeb's most underrated programmes.

I am doing a speech for school on gay marriages. I think this website is wonderfull. I am not gay myself, but i think that Gay Marriages should be allowed all over the world. There is nothing wrong with it. And with people saying that gay couples cant raise children? thats a bunch of crap. Because alot of children now-days are raised by single parents and you odnt see people wining about that!! And also, i dont see why alot of the strait community is making such a big deal out of it, i mean why would it affect them? They need to start worrying about themselves and not the gay and lesbian community. Its also really unfair because heterosexuals get to marry and homosexuals cant. If you love a person, nothing should be able to stop you from sharing your love with them. And how the government is trying to stop this makes me really mad, because its their job to make the people happy, well they arent doing a good job of it, because a large majority of the people are homosexuals and they arent getting what they want by not being able to marry their loved one. Anyways, the point im getting to is, if you love somebody, nobody whould stop you from expressing it by getting married.

I did a personal test walking around with my Nokia N95 while my friend had her iPhone 3g and consitently the iPhone would drop to EDGE. The N95 was fine.

It's not scientific, but it was plainly easy for us to see that there are issues with the iPhone.

Obviously it's more fun for you guys to sit here speculating than seriously thinking it through, but it's kinda evident that you don't really have much understanding of a bit of basic electronics, or experience of power cable faults. Some thoughts for you: where did all that power come from? Ever heard of the concept of resistance? Run a current through a thin piece of wire and the wire heats up? Did you hear that you can even use that concept to make lightbulbs and soldering irons? So, y'know enough "power" to melt a connector doesn't seem that improbable if there is some flaw in the design. And the story is "sort of ridiculous"? How about I tell you about the guy I knew in college whose (electrician tested) power brick just spontaneously combusted in the middle of the cord one day, and nearly set his room on fire?

What happens if you try to use the same credit card over and over again with the same code? Will it give you an error message or will it just charge your card $1.00 anyway?

I'm a disinterested observer. However, I am also disappointed that the biggest school in the state cannot compete for state titles in every sport every season. There are so many talented kids here that competition for positions should bring out the best in every player, every practice and every game.

Why does it not happen?

Problem number one, nepotism and favoritism. I grew up in a school district that did not allow teachers, coaches, or administrators to be employed in the district where their children were enrolled, hence no nepotism. In addition to no nepotism, there was no favoritism, i.e. Johnny's best friend. This is problem that will be difficult to overcome because of geography. Not many teachers want to travel to Kitsap County from the Eastside.

Problem number two, academic achievement. The grade requirement for eligibility set forth by the state and mirrored by the school district is pitiful. If your child is minimally eligible, and a standout, they might not play at the next level because the minimum eligibility standard is less than the NCAA Division I and II minimum. Who cares? You should, because the classroom underachiever will not be eligible for scholarships and/or grants with those grades.

Problem number three, ego. Ego's have not been checked at the door and humble pie has not been served in very many SK kitchens.

Teachers, coaches and administrators will continue to work in the district where their kids will continue to attend, there's not much that can be done about geographics. So, what do you do? First, enforce a grade eligibility standard that mirrors or exceeds the NCAA standard. If a child cannot achieve in the classroom, then they can play in the myriad rec and select leagues that abound. Next, 9th graders play at the junior high, 10th graders play C, 11th graders play JV, and 12th graders play Varsity. This will ensure teams grow up playing together, and work on their fundamentals together. Teams win, not individuals (this is not the NBA). This will also ensure that the child prodigy keeps their ego's in check. No 9th or 10th grader needs to be "the man or woman" in any sport, it breeds contempt and could place too much pressure on that one player. This will also nullify nepotism and favoritism. Lastly, a consistent state title participant will bring the colleges sniffing, and the student-athletes will be eligible and recruitable...

Funny, I tried disabling defender in xp this very way and it didn't work. Craziest thing I've ever seen. It started even when disabled in services! Eventually I was able to keep msmpeng.exe from running by going under tools options. Doing this completely disables defender though so that you have to turn it back on to do a scan. You also have to turn it back off once your done scanning unless you want msmpeng.exe running. I wish ms would add an option to defender to keep it from running in the background all the time and using up resources. Manual scans are all I need.

Apple is nothing more than a prestige brand. Dumb consumers buy into their products because they feel their lives are meaningless without them. Most other competing products are based on funcionality vs form. Did anybody forget that the Ipone just recently learned how to copy and paste. As long as the sheep keep showing up at the Apple door, they will always remain in business. You'll notice it's the younger customers which are driving the success of Apple. The reaosn is that young people don't have any important business to do. Lets face it, young people do nothing more that spend their time listening to music, and twittering about absolute nonsense. In the end, the NASDAQ may be a bit more volatile and liquid due to its electronic base as controlled by market makers. Despite this, the differences really shouldn't influence any decisions you make.

I enjoyed the film very much, or at least wanted to; but every time it switched to video the cinematography took me out of the story and I got lost in questions over artistic choices or if they somehow didn't have the money for a decent camera, I've seen better images from a PD170 or a Sony EX1.

I realize I may just be lacking the artistic genius or mental prowess to understand the cinematography, but films need to be made for the public and even the laymen that isn't in film school has asked me if "Public Enemies" was shot partly on home video.

It must be noted that the gentleman quoted in this article has violated the City of Portland regulations prior to the new codes taking effect. If he has "contracts" with hotels I would be amazed. Most of his work is last minute grab and dash and he has stolen fares from legitimate limousine companies.

Reputable limousine/livery companies don't "compete" with taxis and shuttles. Reputable companies charge a premium because of the quality of the service and the quality of vehicles. The fact this guy calls himself a "limousine operator" is a joke. His group of hacks has caused more problems for the good operators in our area.

The City of Portland has had a moratorium on town car permits for almost 8 years. The reason they have not allowed more permits to be issued to companies is because of operators like Mabkhouti. Just hang out outside the Westin, the Marriott, or Vintage Plaza on a daily basis and you will see these guys smoking, not dressed in suits, and providing lousy service in dirty cars. In reality, Mabkhouti and his merry band of on-demand operators, are nothing more than glorified taxi drivers giving our industry a bad name.

I truly hope the new code will give the City of Portland the tools to step up their enforcement and put Mabkhouti and others like him out of business so the rest of us can develop our professional businesses.

Windows 7 is nothing more than an optimized re-incarnation of Vista.

Microsoft always like to give this image that they're great to fix bugs given that things like service packs fix hundreds of bugs at a time. But the fact of the matter is that the bugs shouldn't have been there in the first place. Vista is one classic example of that, why not release it a year later and iron out its flaws, no they make more money to rush it out flawed rather than to iron out bugs. Microsoft and it's glorified spaghetti code approach for you!

Even if Rosales did do this, why on earth would a guy who wants to be President go HIMSELF to a meeting and promise a bunch of thugs money to kill Chavez. He meets directly with hired killers and tells them he guarantees them the money? If he did this, he is the single dumbest politician on the face of the earth.

The fact is the rich in Latin American never get their own hands dirty. This claim is absurd.

This is just like the brown shirts in Germany starting riots to justify their actions. Now Chavez has justification for whatever he wants to do in the next few years because he is responding to this 'threat'.

Chavez is a populist who promised favors to the poor in order for their support. Then after chasing out the experts in the only real business the country has by acting like a spoiled child, he has ruined an entire generation of Venezuela's economy. Socialism and Populism is a dangerous combination for any economy, throw in authoritarianism and you get Cuba.

And for any of you that think Cuba is the worker's paradise, I suggest you visit and see people who have to subsist on $8 a month working 50 hour work weeks.

Economies don't work if you chase out all the people with money and knowhow.

They are definately the original AO's that he is wearing. I've had a pair for a year or two since seeing my Marine buddy wearing a pair of gold ones. He of course, go them while on duty. It would totally match up with Don's Korean War experience and they were also popular with American astronauts and fighter pilots and made a trip to the moon with Pete Conrad I believe.
