this is worse than hurricane katrina disaster.. definitely an epic......epic fail! when japanese directors get their hands on any major film, they always ruin it. just like the first HULK.. zack snyder should direct the film instead. he knows how to put comic stories to film by not sacrificing the faithfulness on the plot and the design itself

Heh,

Being a Canadian and traveling though Canada and occasionally though the US for work, I have the opposite perspective of you. I often think of Americans as wannabe Canadians.

Don't get me wrong, Americans are nice people, it is just too bad they couldn't be Canadians .. and for that I feel sorry for them.

Cheers.

in Brian McLaren: Sorrow Can Make Us Better, Not Bitter on God's Politics
Last fall grieving Amish forgave the killer and reached out to his family. They did not strap on firearms. My son goes to Virginia Tech and had a class scheduled at 9AM Monday in Norris 200. His professor was out of town and cancelled the class. My son and all his friends are safe. I do not know that I can forgive the killer but the Lord's prayer indicates that I should if I want forgiveness myself.

Andrew Boucher As Deep Throat said, 'Follow the money'. How does a guy like Andrew Boucher, who does not have a regular paycheck, manage to afford a house in Larimer County appraised at more than $250,000.00? There are more than a few working joes in the state of Colorado who would like to know how this is done. Where does Andrew Boucher get his money from?

His site also has a streaming radio that you can use to check out his tunes! From the quick listen I\'ve had so far , I\\\'d have to agree that his tunes are pretty neat.

in noodad » Is Forcing Vegetarianism on your Kid Fair to Them? on Noodad
Humans can eat meat or vegetables, really its just a mater of whats available and personal preference. I agree that kids can make the call about what they eat, when they are old enough to prepare food themselves. Personally I really enjoy a juicy beef steak, but thats just me.

As for predisposing a kids stomach for types of food, isn\\\'t it better that kids enjoy veges? Besides a *decent* vege diet should mean your guts can handle meat in moderation anyway doesnt it?

I feel your pain dude. I have a sweet tooth myself, and struggle to set a good example. On the other hand, remembering what happened when the kids crashed from that last sugar rush tends to simplify things immensely :zzz

in noodad » Keeping The Santa Scam Alive on Noodad
Lets face it guys, if your kid still believes in Santa after going to school or kindy for a couple of years, do you really think they are interacting with their playmates that much.

In our \'info tech\' era, kids seem to pick up on falsehoods like this really quickly. Santa is definitely cool, but teaching kids that he\'s real is not the best idea...

All IMHO of course. I reckon treating Santa as a theme character like Mickey Mouse is the better option. Anyway, hope the lil tykes are tucked in bed safe tonight and that you all had a happy Christmas!

in noodad » Is it OK to Spank Your Kid? on Noodad
I\'m for a quick spank to get the kids attention, but there are lots of times that it just doesn\'t work (eg during an overload tantrum). After watching a British program called \'The Nanny\' I picked up lots of alternative ideas, and freely admit that spanking can all to easily become a knee jerk reaction.

I\'m with wahoodad on this. If the kids ask about it you can always say you don\'t know :). Seriously folks, if the teller likes the way you smile and mis-understands the admission fee, its not all bad is it?

Now if your at a supermarket and you notice a product isn\'t rung on, then what? For me thats a different story...

@ latiamh: I agree that playboy is a bit more subtle, but reagrding THE TALK, you probably need to step up a bit sooner than that, boys tend to pick up this sort of stuff from mates really early

@BmoreDad: well said... the internet may not even be the same place 10 years down the track, look how fast we picked it up :)

in noodad » Hooray! You Fell Down! on Noodad
Not sure if I really want my kids celebrating every time they fall over  but I certainly don\'t panic and get all upset myself. I 100% agree with you there.

The best thing I have found is to do a quick check on their reaction then walk away if they popped up quick like they are inclined to do. Kids shrug off things like running full tilt into a door frame remarkably better than I would, that\'s for sure.

Anyhow so they know I\'m there if they need me, but am not going to give them endless sympathy beacuse they did an oopsie. That way if something really dramatic happens then I can be there.

Course either approach supposes two things. I pretty much saw what happened and the imediate aftermath, and I can make a pretty good guess where the kid\'s head is at.

in noodad » Should girls be allowed to play in boys Little League Baseball leagues? on Noodad
It would be an issue for me if the sport were a full contact type, such as football. Guys tend to be more physicaly competitive, even little kids. However I sugest neither baseball or softball fit into that category so there seems to be no practical reason to segregate the teams at such a young stage. Taking that a bit further, anyopne know a definition for full contact sport is?

IMHO Western society has built up a lot of artificial sexual divisions between kids that usualy cause more harm than good. When I was a kid it made no difference to me whether I was playing against girls or boys, it\'s a decision made by adults \'for the good\'.

The wiggles are indeed good, although I\'m not a fan of the pirate. Hes just a bit too manic IMHO.

Another really good show is the Young Einsteins. Dunno if youve seen it but my son gets just as active watching those cartoony kids as with the wiggles.

in noodad » Is getting your baby’s ears pierced an act of child abuse? on Noodad
I definately think its a choice that the child should make (so long as the parent as guardian doesnt have some major issue against piercings themselves). This way the little tyke has an oportunity to learn about choices and consequences in a fairly obvious way.
