I wonder how much say Todd has had these days? I would guess that nothing will be the same for her, especially in Alsaka where every stinkey, underhanded action she did while Mayor and Governor made has been flashed on the national TV screen. Oh well, Alaskans are different and probably think she's great. Afterall they have a long list of crooked politicians that keep getting voted in year after year. Think Murkowski, Young, Stevens. And as long as those oil revenue checks keep coming in they'll love her because she stands up to those socialistic, terrorist lovers in the lower 48.

Re: A Shadow Over Election Day

I'm starting to believe that the Republicans are really the anti American party that they have been accusing the democrats of being. Between not feeling that the laws of this nation apply to them, i.e. Bush's signing statements, illegal wire tapping, usng the justice department for political purposes, not answering congressional suopenas, torture and this trash that has happened every election, they don't have a very honorable past. No wonder that new voters are overwhelmingly going Democratic. It seems to me that there's just not that much about the Republican Party that appeals to anyone who is not a racist.

Re: The Visionary Minimalist

I agree with your assertion that Obama is an inclusionist. His stated goal is to remove the divisions that have left so many Americans feeling left out of the process. However I disagree that he is only looking for what to do. His focus has been clear. He intends to improve the fortunes of the middle class. Unfortunately he comes to office when the country is facing many great crises like the economic meltdown, the bleeding of our country's wealth and youth in Iraq & Afghanistan and global warming to name a few. His greatest attribute may be his ability to inspire many and mobilize them to create something greater than the parts. It's going to take the support and sacrifice of all Americans to overcome these obstacles and get the country back on track. Now is the time for true patriotism putting aside partisan divides and doing what is right for the country.
