Can't wait to see an English version

A translation would be simple, but a lot of the thoughts don't come across unless you actually present with it. If I do it in English some time I'll film it and stick it online.

A couple of questions. Neat concept but why does she have to send the photo somewhere to get her results? Seems like an unnecessary step. Why didn't the phone just work it out upon photo-capture?

That would be great too - even better in fact!
This is just one example. Having an application which would auto-recognize would be neat.
Please note - the lab is as goos as the suppliers within it.
Any company who does that should comment here and I can intro them to Nicole who runs the lab :)

My initial experience with SnapTell is good. Great idea, works well with US books.

Oh come on, this is naive. Ever stood on a Tube platform? Ever watched an ad between TV shows?

in AOL lets you sell your video on Scobleizer
Business Intelligence? Being there when a new store opens, asking customers on the street about certain brands etc. I suppose it's about broadcasting around a niche angle.

in Cisco dots the “i” on Apple on Scobleizer
This isn't a celebration of brands using the blogosphere - this is a celebration of blogs behaving badly. Gizmodo misled its readers deliberately in order ot hype traffic. The rest of the web followed it. If Cisco had a hand in it, then this is even worse than we think.

Gotta agree with disenchantedtech. We're going to be pulling our entertainment media from some big server farm in the air. Not actually physically owning it ourself.

in Microsoft’s answer to YouTube on Scobleizer
No one cares... no one wants a YouTube from Microsoft, no one wants a music player. People just want Microsoft to make their computers work well. That's it. It simply doesn't matter if this is faster, better, happier. No one cares.
Microsoft again wastes money misunderstandign who they are.

We had the same argument with Tailrank. Sometimes the best thing to do is out them until something better comes along:

in Microsoft gets into new world of advertising on Scobleizer
The problem with the model is that Microsoft assumes that the future of advertising is advertising. But it's not: the slow painful death of TV Advertising is just the start of the decline of one way brand dialog. Banners on sites, no matter how relevant, are still old advertising.

Why do you need a first life if you can watch (user generated) TV in SL? With friends that look like little furry rabbits:

in The role of anti-marketing design on Scobleizer
Target, BMW, Apple aren't crafted by ad departments. They're crafted by the fact that everyone is involved in the brand. They live and breathe it. They actually do what you say: the brands were "done for the love of it"
To say, that we've created 'bullsh*t filters' for good design ignores the huge design trend permeating society: Method products, the next Dodge Challenger, American Apparel, the rise of the prefab. There's so much love of good design these days - you may think you've cracked it with your website design, but to me the apparent absence of any care whatsoever, says that you have little love for what you do.
