Into hiding I go.

I had an instance where a guy dropped in on my blog, made some "death threats" and very obscene attacks at me and my beliefs.

I deleted them simply because I didn't want people visiting my blog to come across them -- not because I didn't like him disagreeing with my beliefs or his hope that a Satanic goat would eat my young, or whatever it was.

I don't long for anything like this, as I think the owners and authors of most (legitimate) blogs have done a very good job of managing things themselves.

My question would be, "What does (would) that look like?"

Those badges were horrid.

I'm of the school of thought that, it's my blog, I'll run it how I see fit. There's more at stake than just your ability to type whatever your heart so desires.

How does this compare to something like Creative Commons? Could something similar come about?

It won't be a decision you regret. Choosing your family before anything else in this world is always the right decision.

Praise God that he granted you the grace to do this.

I pray that we all examine our usage of time with our families in mind.

The Constitution affords us the right to free speech - even hate speech, but your rights end when your “free speech” threatens <del>to take</del> the life of another in any way.

Man, Chris, just know that you are NOT alone. I go through the same thing. I usually just pray that the Spirit leads me to do what He would have me to do.

One day, I was walking out of a Christian book store when I was approached by an obviously homeless man. He said he was hungry. I told him that I was about to head down to BK (just a block away) and that if he wanted to ride his bike down there, I would buy him dinner. He jumped at the idea. So I met him down there and bought him some food and left.

I kept thinking I should have sat down with him and eaten with him and talked with him. But no, I simply paid for and handed him his food.

I think there's always room for "better" in how we deal with situations like this -- but the Father looks at our heart before He looks at our actions. Start there (in your heart) and maybe next time, you'll be able to know how you might glorify God in your reaction to someone's begging.

But outside of God, I'm not sure anyone has "the" answer.

I am a former 1and1.com customer. I was pleased with the consistency of the service, but their customer service was horrible.

I am now using Dreamhost (via a friend's account) and I enjoy the vast array of options and services they provide, but being a much larger, and therefore more widely used, company, there is more downtime than with 1and1.com's service.

I have, however, been very pleased with Dreamhost -- and it's hard to beat their prices.

MT has been praised from east to west by many. I can't speak either way on them, though.

Well, it's a long road, to say the least. But maybe the end game is worth the work?

I love these things -- I just wish they were longer!

Does it still use a ton of resources?

Then again, it might use less than Thunderbird or Firefox. FF is sitting at 64MB right now.
