You can bet your blog I'm bitter. ;)

Re: What does creative mean to you?

I like what Dave M said: "...interpretation is totally in the eye of the beholder, and many declare themselves judge of what is “creative” and what is not" and the notion of "an artist in their own realm."

Or like @zackgonzales said about being true to yourself while changing yourself.

I'm creative when I turn my ideas into something I've never done before or I transform my environment (this has many meanings) to make a new experience. Just because someone else may have already done it or done it "better", it doesn't make me any less creative "in [my] own realm" as long as I'm using my unique ideas to guide me.

Re: Ben Kessler

You might be a sloppier note taker than I am. Mine are pretty bad, but I can usually make sense of them. Fool! :)

Re: Newspaper Link Love (I can’t get no)

Both this post and the comments are really interesting! I hate this, when sites link back to their own topics. If I want to know more about "yoga," I'm probably way more interested in a wiki than another NYT article on it. But if I really was interested, then I could search it. And equally frustrating, as you mentioned, is the lack of linking to valuable outside information, such as bios and other related sites. But what I didn't think of right offhand are Mike's numbers 2 and 3.

So interesting to see the differences in the ways blogs vs traditional news sources manage their information flow.

Great post! :)

Re: Independent’s Day Music Conference: Music 2.0 Panel

Some of the frustration may be due in part to my lack of clearly-conveyed "mission statement" about the panel. As we aimed to provide a toolkit to HELP indie artists (using online technologies), this particular panel was not really designed to argue the nature of the music 2.0 beast and its downfalls. Like Maria said, those topics don't really arise naturally within the intended context. This setting was pretty elementary and set up as a guide on how to use the technology rather than what's wrong with the platforms/system. I'd love to hear your thoughts on a panel that IS designed to delve into the pros/cons of social media and the value (or lack thereof) to artists trying to promote their music. Another time, another place. :-)
