in Battlestar Galactica: Thoughts On Season 4.0 on Webomatica
Yeah, it does seem like they had to just throw it all together at the end there and just damn all the questions we hoped were going to get answered. it was like the rest of the fleet didn't matter anymore ~ the cave in to colloborate with cylons did seem way too easy -- but it all happened so fast that maybe the human civil war will follow in the next episode. Tigh couldn't have gotten 6 pregnant --cylons can't reproduce. The line about children can't really fulfill their potential or destiny until their parents die was perhaps a clue about the humans being the parents of the cylons and needing to die (from this commentary on the finale) the final four really were lame in their inability to do anything!

AND was I the only one who fully expected the Statue of Liberty in that last scene on ravaged earth - with Charlton Heston (damn them all to hell!) (apparently not when you read the commentary i linked to)

webomatica Yeah - I did enjoy the episode but in retrospect my favorite season was #2.
At this point I'd also like the show to start wrapping things up and
answering the burning questions - they still have a good chance to do so.

And a Planet Of The Apes ending would have been pretty funny, sounds like a
good idea for a youtube / parody video!

thanks for the recommendation. I would have already seen this movie, because of the subject matter (I grew up in the Bay Area and was 6 when all of this started--but happily didn't take a bus to school--although I did have it in my consciousness and had nightmares about bus accidents and children dying at that age) and because I like both Jake G. & Mark R. alot (and even Chloe Sevigny). But it got such bad reviews (mostly from my friends). But I thought it was a very good film. A little understated and slow at times, but for an American film those are more virtues. I also followed up by doing more reading online--always a good indication that it was an effective film.

In that vein I recommend the movie "Shattered Glass" which triggered online research after the film. Another very good film built on real life events.

I'm glad you gave it 5 stars ~ it made me go watch it.

nice review. I would've assumed this was another piece of empty headed fluff, but I think I might check it out after your review. The male viewpoint would be interesting and I like that actor who plays the child (Abigail Breslin)

I saw this when it came out and liked it too. the music stuck in my head and I bought the soundtrack (on Itunes that is). I still like some of the songs.

oops there was something wrong with the comment feature. my second comment didn't show up when I submitted so I wrote it again...and it didn't show up either even after refreshing the page. That's why I'm repeating myself ~ probably did about the IT Crowd, too. You can delete the extra comments ; )

you're welcome btw ~

I love this show. Unfortunately I watched all the episodes before the end of the year on TV Links and have to wait for more. Noel Fielding's character is an extra bonus, too. Moss is wonderful.

ps I didn't hear about the hobbit director idea. that would be excellent ~ two of my favorite creators represented in one film G del T and Tolkien. very cool!

in Gilmore Girls: No Eighth Season? on Webomatica
wow, lots of interesting thoughts here...Gilmore Girls has lost that special place in my heart (and TV viewing timeslot) due to how badly written this season is...you know it's not the actor's fault -- it all worked seamlessly before!

I'm at work (and under a deadline) so I'll have to come back later and read your posts more thoroughly--but one thing I wanted to add is don't forget another career jump--Jared Padendecki (ok let me check that spelling...Padlecki) and Supernatural--I never liked him

I saw this one, too and have missed a lot of episodes this season. I think because my daughter is always at band practice on Tuesdays and we used to watch together...it was okay. Christopher and Luke are both seeming like losers to me lately...

Another thing to make my day ~ nicest response to lending a CD I've ever had. Like the Gilmore Girls reference, too. AND they're playing on my birthday, too. I love this band. The best album of the decade.

"Take a pie shell, & bake it dry; then take marrow & do there-in; then take hard yolks of Eggs,"

do what therein? I don't think so...not in my crustade you don't!

hard yolks of eggs? no refrigerators I guess could result in yolks such as these...

hi Jason,

cool ~ I've missed almost all the new episodes, so it's fun to read about it here.

I don't remember if it was Madeline or Louise (oh, okay I'll look it up) who played the drummer in the Gina Gershon movie "Prey for Rock and Roll" which I just watched for a second time on disc--first time at the GLBT film fest at the Castro with Gina Gershon presenting. I liked this movie alot, but my daughter (rock superstar that she is) hated it.

ah it is Madeline and that's Shelley Cole who did a good job in the movie.
