Any independent parties left standing will be wiped out by subsequent hyperinflation of existing currencies or equivalent revaluation into new currencies.  Those who acquired ownership and full control at the bottom of the deleveraging phase will pay off their pennies on the dollar acquired old money debts with down the road new money hyper-inflated/revalued currencies.
