in Dear Gary Vee, on Gary Vaynerchuk
I guess everybody get's excited when a new huge thing is coming and that is Crush It! so it's totally ok to be excited about the book, in fact many of us are excited to finally get it and read it.

Gary you inspire people to do "the shit they like" all around the world and that's cool, also getting excited is human, and your content is always great.

Isn't internet awesome to get feedback..I love it for that.

in Unions and New Media on Random Sarah
Or New Media can create a new bunch of actors, editors and writers....Universities are already educating them and talent is developing and of course their wages and careers can grow with the New Media Production companies.

But still the idea of unions will stop some good developments like it does in MSM and in any other industries. Unions help workers but most time limit business ...

in Unions and New Media on Random Sarah
While Unions seek to solve the problems workers have. The problems workers have, mainly financial problems are not solved by paying them more money, as Unions fight for, so i guess Unions are not bad, but have an incomplete way of looking for things.

I suggest you better check out how to secure cash flows from your own sources while you have the contract and protect your own intellectual property as many shows do. They are associated with a company but they keep the rights and royalties for themselves.

Also many startups get extra costs from unions and are faced with increased costs that finally lead them to die. So i think that workers should receive their payments and should check contracts using law advisors from unions, but to fully charge stuff on to companies and specially start ups is what makes them come down.

As for workers more money will not solve the problem, the idea is for them to make a steady cashflow without doing much effort ... i.e save money buy a cheap house (easy to find) and rent it for some cash that will come with out requiring of your time.

I know my answer is mostly financial, but finally it's all part of the economy and we move on money right?

in Generation Wh-Y Does it Matter? on Random Sarah
I think that for classification Gen Y is ok, but unuseful for marketing purposes. Gen Yers have many different interests and uses and we need to segment people by biography (what they do and what they like). But i don't think we need to classify people at all. Web gives us the ability to create relationships and we cannot classify a relationship into "relationships with middle age tech geeks" (for example). We need to live them, that's the beauty of it.

But of course for "traditional marketing" purposes that classification seems to work. It does, e.g ...we all use computers hence they can sell us computers, but they can sell us a lot of configurations of computers based on our use and they are not doing it. That's why it works but not completely.

I think the future will be more about relationships with users and costumers and less about statistical classifications of people. It is like that with some companies and services, but it will go mainstream.

As Gary V. says ...wait until Oprah uses twitter.

in Gary Vaynerchuk - Doing what you love can lead to more than just... on Gary Vaynerchuk
I'm a senior at University and i got this huge corporate internship that i loved, then suddenly they decided i got skills for other job i don't love. Since, Im young i've decided to let that job go away and start doing what i love. I surely look to get a happier life with way much more money but ultimately with way much more time enjoying myself than doing something i hate.

in Gary Vaynerchuk - Britney Spears is on Twitter….kinda I applaud... on Gary Vaynerchuk
That's it. Social Media is about being you. If she would like to post Britney updates why not open a britneyupdates account or something like that. But if she is going to be on twitter, it better be just the original Britney.

in Uber Shuts Down - PSYCH!! on TechNews.LA
Glad to hear the user base can keep them alive. Uber may need a new strategy and to focus on monetizing sooner than later as Jason Calacanis proposed in his email. Finally, when economy is bailing monetizing can't wait as when times are good.

This is really useful. I hope they can make it available for the rest of the US and the rest of the world so it can make a huge impact in reducing the greenhouse effect. Being concious about how much we spend is the best thing to make us control that

in 10 Vertical Twitters With Potential To Win TC50 on TechNews.LA
I thought yammer was the company with the best idea to monetize quickly. Yeah they are not that innovative, but i think as long as the knowledge base stays in-site it will be helpful for companies to try as they embrace new technologies. In the competitive market is do or die (but probably in a longer term).

How about my newest idea

in DocStoc Launches MyDocs and DocSync - Flippin’ Sweet! on TechNews.LA
Already installing it. Seems very useful specially now that i use computers at college and work, and that I'm about to get a second computer.

Also a great way to create an account to share documents with partners and co-workers.
Helps to increase productivity.

One funfact is that I haven't used the MyDocuments folder in years, It's pretty disorganized for me. I recommend it too. Will use this as from now.

in Gary Vaynerchuk - Better than Zero Way too many people worry about... on Gary Vaynerchuk
Gary,

This message is really valuable to me. I live in a country with little opportunities in the web businesses, but I love the web. My dream is to move to the U.S and do a online business over there and later move it to my country. The only thing i was doing wrong was not starting. We are starting right now, looking for a university to go to in the US and by starting our own Video Blog to gather ideas and build our own brand. Even if we are here right now, so we will have something for when we get there. Thanks for inspiring us! And we, with a little bit of you will keep bringing the Thunder not only to the Wine World, but to the Whole of it (the world).

Ok. So you made the deposit! I wanted to thank you! for inspiring me in getting the money and starting making possible that i can go the cruise too. You may identify me by my twitter username jjaime. I really think that you've made a great effort and it paid off. I guess non payed interns understand each other on how hard is to get money, while working for free. But Internet tells us we are wrong!!!

Hope you make it and Hope I make it! And see you on the Cruise to have a glass of wine!

If they do it. I hope they don't change the essence of digg which is the algorithm. I also hope they let Kevin and Alex keep drinking in a couch every week. That is one of the things that make digg iconic.

in Is Plurk worth all the work? on Neha Tiwari
I went to Plurk after i read a blog on it. Somehow i agree with the comments i've read before about the timeline feature. It really takes time to get used to it. And after quite some time i really prefer to stick to twitter, but as i said before: Plurk is one thing iJustine should add to her things to do when twitter is down. I will still give it a chance to see how it evolves, but for now ill just keep up with twitter and check my plurk account less often.

in Happy Friday Night! on The Flog
Well i used to write a lot when i felt happy and inspired. When you feel guilty you just can't inspire yourself. Now im trying to get back to my creative process i feel that letting that go for other "minor" goals is not wise. And yeah about ComiCom ...your smiles are just all we need.
