Absolutely awesome! Thanks for sharing and literally testing the waters on somethings like this. I think it's brilliant. For those that are younger and comfortable with social media and the web, I don't see it as distraction. I can see it as very distracting for an older, traditional attender though. What we need to realize though is that we're not trying these things for them. It's not about them. It's about those who are out there and feel disconnected. What a great use of this technology! Doug, so are you going to get the CableCARD's from Comcast? Be sure and let us know how that goes. Depending on your experience I may upgrade immediately!

Doug, you're not adding. You're replacing and existing, defective piece of equipment with a superior TiVo DVR.

That makes it even tougher. Having experienced and continuing to use an actual TiVo powered DVR just makes Comcast's look like even more of a "less than service." You'd get the multi unit discount on your monthly fee for another unit wouldn't you. You'd be saving $10/mnth just on the service costs.

Doug, where are you located? For that price I'd dump Comcast as the middle man and just buy a TiVo Series3.

I sent mine right before Christmas and only waited 15 days from shipped to receiving it back.

Pick me! Pick me! I need something like this. I've got a wonderful 36" Sony WEGA HD tv. The only problem is it's only got one HDMI input. With my cable box and Xbox 360, I don't have anywhere to plugin any more HD components. Here's my previous comment.

I'm trying to decide if I live with the Comcast TiVo or bite the bullet and get the TiVo HD or TiVo Series3. What do you think? I'm already the owner of a TiVo Series2.

Although the last thing I need to be doing is spending MORE money on my cable package, I'd be willing to pay $10 more per month just to get rid of the Comcast DVR.

I'm currently with Comcast and already a TiVo subscriber with a Series2 box. I'm pretty close to purchasing a Series3 HD box and ditching Comcast's hardware in exchange for 2 CableCards (for $.99) according to their rep. Is this still the best option for me or should I stick with the Comcast TiVo box? The existing Comcast DVR sucks.

Now THAT! is interesting. I think I'm going to have to do that the next time I'm sitting somewhere public for an extended period of time.

Great statements Aaron, I agree with you 100%. There were definitely too many balls dropped in this whole event, but part of the problem with not getting to the solution is far too many people walking around pointing at all the balls on the ground instead of shutting their mouths and picking them up themselves.
