The charts you see online are mainly not distinct separate writing systems. They're linguistic translations of writing and spelling categorized by regions/ethnolinguistic groups like Hanunuo and Tagbanwa. Surat, Sulat, Suyat, etc are the same word for writing. Garlit, Badlit, Guhit, etc all mean a "mark". In Europe, you have Écrire, Scrivi, Escribir, Schreiben, etc all mean to write. The French, Spanish, Germans, etc all use the Roman Alphabet in different styles, not different systems. If I write the Roman letter A and you write it differently, it doesn't make my version the San Francisco Roman Alphabet. A distinct language doesn't equal a distinct writing system. You can say Surat, Sulat, Sueat, etc that can pertain to Roman alphabet, Arabic, Devanagari, Baybayin, etc.

Re: SXSW PanelPicker®

This will be a game changer

Re:

Those are writing systems that are still in use while Baybayin isn't. Make sure to keep from being extinct first while there's still a native writers. We should be concerned with the Tagbanwa and Buhid scripts as they don't have an NGO like the Mangyan Heritage Foundation. Attention should also be given to revivals such as Kulitan. www.Baybayin.com

Re: 5 of the world’s most beautiful alphabets…and why you’ll never learn to read them

Alibata is an incorrect term. It's written as Mi-Ke Re/De-A-M. It's a bit inconsistent because the 1st name is written traditional and last is modern. To be consistent, the 1st name could've been written as Ma-Y-Ke-L. Also, and the tattoos aren't "PHL" inspired, they are 100% the Philippines. If they were mixed with other designs or was an element of a design, it would be considered inspired.

Re: Using Art to Reinforce Identity and Ties to the Phillipines: The California Report | The California Report

My thoughts exactly.
