hi,
great insights. i am trying to build a facebook app (who isn't today?) based on lifestream concept and bumped to the same problems. i am pretty sure i can't come to close what you want but here are my ideas:

* weight feeds:
something i create is more important than something i consume, so weight creations automatically more and allow the user to change weights for the consumed ones.

* context:
it is hard to capture but maybe context can be build when your lifestream consumer is interested. for example, i saw you have listened abba and *commented* on your last.fm stream that you are a retard for listening abba. this will give you chance to clarify the situation and create a context. far from perfect, but at least something.

What did you use for the Activity class? ListActivity?

I am trying to come up with a such UI for my own twitterdroid (a icon, and a text near it). First thing came to my mind is a custom ListActivy layout and an ListAdapter for its data.

although my inner geek says "this is really cool", is real-time editing an effective way to write new code? i mean this seems like introducing an another distraction to your coding session.

But for code review, this may be an invaluable tool.

I am not a Mac user but i like the idea a lot.
I am trying to develop a similar application for mobile. I wonder if there is some sort of open protocol to communicate between endpoints. I mean i can capture the calls i made with you, or SMSes involving you. How should i push that data to your application? The same problem applies for OnlineDesktop for Linux as well, too.

Thoughts?

You said it's making you better, but you didn't say "how" it is making you better in business context. Sure if i were a simulscribe user, i would love to see ceo's blog posts and have a direct communication with him but your tumblelog is different than, say, Fred Wilson's blog. I see his blog as a way of expression of thoughts in a structured way yet your's as a more personal experiment.
