in Cola: Real-Time Shared Editing - Screencast on codesurgeon blog forum
although my inner geek says "this is really cool", is real-time editing an effective way to write new code? i mean this seems like introducing an another distraction to your coding session.
But for code review, this may be an invaluable tool.

IMHO whether this is a 'distraction', an 'effective way to write new code', or an 'invaluable tool' is dependent upon 1) the use case (e.g. code review, pair programming, friends hacking, etc); and 2) the people involved (e.g. friends, colleagues, cross-or-within org collaborators, etc). In other words, it's likely to be all three and more under the write/wrong conditions.

in James Siminoff - How Tumblr makes me better on James Siminoff
You said it's making you better, but you didn't say "how" it is making you better in business context. Sure if i were a simulscribe user, i would love to see ceo's blog posts and have a direct communication with him but your tumblelog is different than, say, Fred Wilson's blog. I see his blog as a way of expression of thoughts in a structured way yet your's as a more personal experiment.

Necrodome,
You are right I was trying to keep things a little short. But here are a few examples of how:
1. It allows me to set a tone of culture of how I do things. This helps with partners and team memebers of SimulScribe that read this blog. Since I travel a lot and we all do not work in the same offfice this is a big benefit.
2. It allows potential partners and customers to sort of meet me and SimulScribe in a more intimate way then is possible on a corporate website.
3. From a blog world it allows me to communicate and create relationships with other bloggers as a peer and not as just some CEO trying to get coverage. There are things that I know make me excited as a blogger (like getting comments) that I realize it is important that I do with others.
4. I also feel like it keeps me connected to what is really happening in the world to help me and the company stay in front of everyone else.
As for the blog, it is a personal experiment, you are correct. My goal of the blog is to show how I as an entreprenuer take various inputs of information and how I view them. I feel that this requires me to add straight business posts, personal posts and many things in between.
Thanks for commenting and reading!

in Yet Another Shelf Release (0.0.8) on jerakeen.org
I am not a Mac user but i like the idea a lot.
I am trying to develop a similar application for mobile. I wonder if there is some sort of open protocol to communicate between endpoints. I mean i can capture the calls i made with you, or SMSes involving you. How should i push that data to your application? The same problem applies for OnlineDesktop for Linux as well, too.
Thoughts?

in Introducing TwitterDroid on Fred BrunelWhat did you use for the Activity class? ListActivity?
I am trying to come up with a such UI for my own twitterdroid (a icon, and a text near it). First thing came to my mind is a custom ListActivy layout and an ListAdapter for its data.

in Wanting a Multidimensional Lifestream on disqus mturro's posts
hi,
great insights. i am trying to build a facebook app (who isn't today?) based on lifestream concept and bumped to the same problems. i am pretty sure i can't come to close what you want but here are my ideas:
* weight feeds:
something i create is more important than something i consume, so weight creations automatically more and allow the user to change weights for the consumed ones.
* context:
it is hard to capture but maybe context can be build when your lifestream consumer is interested. for example, i saw you have listened abba and *commented* on your last.fm stream that you are a retard for listening abba. this will give you chance to clarify the situation and create a context. far from perfect, but at least something.
