Thanks for this post. I'm going to have to clear a room full of stuff and make it usable again.

Re: RussellBeattie.com - My Year of Living Dangerously

Hi Russ,

great post. Maybe for 2008, you can do a "Paul Graham", find young upstart entrepreneurs and based on what you learned in 2007 exchange your advice and some of your seed capital for equity - I'm sure when you get back your "job" that you'll have more "cash flow" to help these up and coming technopreneurs.

Re: Justin.tv unlikely to be duplicated

ustream.tv is cranky when it has more than 100 viewers, case in point when thomas hawk and kristopher tate had it on for their zooomr mark III launch:
http://ustream.tv/channel/zooomr-mark-iii-launch

I think stickam.com is better right now.

I'd like to be able to duplicate their ability to broadcast over cellular networks.

Re: Is Facebook Overvalued?

“The value of a social network is defined not only by who’s on it, but by who’s excluded.”

exactly. that's the difference/value of being in aSmallWorld.net and aBigWorld.net :)

Re: Gospelr: Ready for BETA Testers!!!

when I try to change the avatar or the background image - it doesn't change ...

Re: WordCamp Philippines 2008

hey Blogie :) I do have a wordpess blog :) I actually have a very old one that I deleted some time ago - this is the resurrected one hehehe :)

Re: 2007/05/24/facebook-f8-live/

I think it was MarshallK who mentioned why Facebook F8 isn't being dugg ...

Re: 2007/06/01/my-soul-and-10-other-things-that-google-owns/

1. Once your data is "out in the open" (since you posted your email, phone, etc.) then it's pretty much in public. I'd like to see where they draw the line. BTW "scraping" information from Facebook is trivial - you don't even need a script (of course it's faster if use one) but you can use their very own FQL to find all the user_ids of your network and then from there it's trivial to get the information using the user_ids using query requests (more tedious than a request but if you use it discretely you should get the info that you want) - of course, I'm assuming you're doing all this for a "worthy cause" ;)

Re: What I was using to hit Facebook — unreleased Plaxo Pulse

all Plaxo Pulse needs to do now is put a "timing" mechanism on their Facebook "scraper" so that it will not be identified as a bot. :)

Re: Campaign to Reduce Wikipedia’s PageRank to Zero

some thoughts:

1. it's not easy to put an article up in Wikipedia let alone put links inside it. really. try it. there's an army of deletionists inside wikipedia that will mark your article with speedy deletion if it doesn't subscribe to wikipedia standareds

2. it's hard enough to get second sources to be referenced by a tertiary source like like Wikipedia. I'm thinking this might discourage people to put up meaningful material there and also develope the stubs.

3. is there an alternative to wikipedia then? a wiki without the nofollow? so this is like a nofollow virus that's slowly infecting the WWW as more downstream wikis assimilate the nofollow tags

4. I'm wondering how big G will now rank relevance ... (thinking out loud) :P

Re: More Sweet Transformers Pics Hit the Web!

wow! thanks for posting! can't wait to watch it!
