in The Decline of Traditional Advertising and the Rise of Social Media on PR2.0
I was amused that all the discussion for this article is via twitter.

When Twitter starts using advertising, they will KILL all.

in Can Social Media Make Us Buy More Cars? on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
I applied for the Fiesta Movement, since I love small cars - but since I am 40-something, I didn't stand a chance.

In Europe, people my age drive small cars. Not here. Sigh.

in Why I will buy 24c over Vitamin Water from now on on Frugal Family Life
I have to say - the packaging is confusing - "24c" looks like "24 cents" - which is not what it costs.

in Guest Post- The SanDisk Story on Chris Brogan
Great PR for SanDisk.

However, I owned a Sansa too - and I sold it via Amazon. Why? It didn't break. The software interface was SO much harder to navigate than the iPods that I vowed to never get any other MP3 player than an iPod ever again.

(I just bought my family's 8th iPod. The very first one is mine - and it's still running fine! We sold 4 of them to upgrade. I'm the low man on the totem pole, even though I'm dad, so I keep my 20gb gen-2 Classic running. A new battery recently!)

in Life After the 1 Second Pitch on Chris Brogan
EXCELLENT idea on the part of whoever is behind it. I GUARANTEE it will produce more word of mouth than any other ads.

The actor is charming and funny.

I'm not a Miller drinker, but if I were (on Superbowl day), these ads would make me want to run to the store during halftime!

in Guest Post- Is Twitter the Future on Chris Brogan
Stephen, I can't wait for the next version of Twitter (or Twitter-competitor).

I love how other companies have expanded the usefulness of Twitter already. (Like Thwirl, that I use constantly.)

If Facebook would open source like that, what potential there could be!

Great reminder to avoid those stereotypes.

Underneath the outside - that's what counts.

You did a good job of making me want to see the movie. I had been closed to it, but I think it would be really educational.

Thanks for your always honest approach to life, Micah.

Great list.

I'd suggest that the biggest one that the tweet-o-phere needs to heed is to use direct replies rather than broadcasting to everyone!!

in Solving the iMac vs PC dilemma on Becoming A Writer Seriously
If you get the iMac, the regret of the higher price will wear off *long* before the pleasure of using it will.
tomcolvin Long-term pleasure vs. short-term financial pain -- yes, that's just the
issue. Thanks for reminding me, Paul, especially as this morning I woke up
with the notion to "save my money."

I'm certainly convinced that the Mac is a joy to use. But my biggest
hesitation has to do with available software. I have lots of Windows
programs that seem "indispensible," such as Whiz Folders, Keynote,
Paperport, and others.

That's where the convenience of Parallels comes in, the ability to run both
Mac OS and Windows simultaneously. However, what if I find myself still
using, say 90 percent of the time, Windows programs. Do Windows programs
work better under Parallels on an iMac? Or is performance identical to the
PC experience. Haven't found the answer to that one yet.

in You Can Do Your Job Without Twitter on Chris Brogan
@Kyle Lacy - "I don’t think you can build “social capital” without adding in the ego."

I must disagree a bit - our friend Chris Brogan has succeeded at this partly because of his humble attitude!

And Clay Parker Jones has a great post that mentions the value of humility too: "when was the last time you said, “I hate that guy. He’s so humble”? Never. You wouldn’t say that. Because people like humble people. Humility is part and parcel of putting others first and is absolutely part of what the brand in discussion is all about." Here: http://exitcreative.net/blog/?p=521
