Where did ever mention I was a conservative? Disillusioned former Labour supporter would be more accurate.
"the Conservatives are too tainted, politically, economically and philosophically with 'free market' dogma."
Too tainted for what? To win the next election? Time will tell, though the future looks decidedly bleak for Brown and his cohorts.
"Perhaps you just don't understand what's happened."
Perhaps you didn't read what I wrote.

Er, no. The free market does not malfunction, it overshoots. Neither is it broken, but incredibly robust. Yes, short term unemployment will rise, businesses will struggle and the headlines will be scary, but long term people will continue to live well in spite of and not because of the politicians.
jgm2's point is that governments (and hence taxpayers) should not have to prop up industries with pisspoor management.
The policies that Brown will follow in its efforts to alleviate the current crisis will almost certainly prove inflationary and accelerate a decline in the real value of cash.
While all this nonsense of giving minimum-wage monkeys 125% mortgages was going on, Brown, like Bush, did not anticipate fuck-all.

So that's what this tent was all about. I passed there after a late, and good, lunch in Canteen just a stone's throw from there. However it was a very wet day and there didn't seem to be anyone around. As you say, a good idea but I doubt £6 is much for many of the local City workers.

Good article, JB. I also think it is a good trade, though not quite what we gave up for him. Kotchman looks solid as a young player. I will take this opportunity to accuse you of stealing my article title, though :). And of course, I'm only joking. Mostly. Keep up the good blogging. Colin

in Tex is Now an Angel on The Launching Pad
Jon - I'd prefer to see a power hitting left fielder for a couple years while Heyward is still developing. I'd play Brandon Jones / Gregor in Center. The other option is to replace KJ at second with someone with a little bit more of a bat. We need to replace the bit of power that left the lineup with Tex. We've got 40-50 mil to spend in the offseason. That's good news. We need to focus on pitching, but not forget another bat would help us out. The money is discussed here - http://www.bravesblast.com/2008/07/29/2009-option... Anywho, overall, great trade for the Braves. I like this one. We'll see how it plays out.

great post jb. I think the play wasn't necessarily dirty, but it was avoidable for sure. Boo phillies!
