Correct, my pattern trading is not the conventional chart patterns that showed in the book. These trades are established based on my experience.

The pattern was developed real time, i.e I did not know what was going to happen at the right side of chart. base on the formation, I made my trading decsision.

What can be said about Mr Hamilton that hasn't already been said? Dude is a grade-A douche. If he really wants to donate proceeds to Ma Dukes, he can just do it out of his own pocket when he receives his own cut of his album, he doesn't *need* to put Dilla's name on the sleeve - that is indeed surely just a publicity stunt and a really low move to make more sales.

And the icing on the cake?... then claiming Dilla's ghost guided him in the studio or some nonsense. I wonder how Charles sleeps at night? He thinks he is being all clever with his "any publicity is good publicity" ethos, but he's still a talentless douche with a shocking attitude and ego. Some people...

I can't disagree with you. Your entries are safer option, and it is a good choice for swing trading. For day trading, I use inside day (inside period), reversal low/high to enter a trade.

There data providers offer these. And your futures broker might be providing some charting service as well. Check with your broker.

For third party vendor, you may check out Esignal or iqfeed etc.

I use 10-min chart. Generally speaking, I would wait for the price to pause and a trend is established before I put in a trade. A pause means forming a lower high or higher lows etc for example. I like to see market taking a breath before continue to move in the direction of established trend. Real time doesn't mean put in a trade while price is still forming. I would wait for price entry rule to be completed (be it close higher than previous high, or two up closes, or pattern completion etc) before put in a trade.

That was not a missed trade. I did not have opportunity to establish short position. Look at the chart retrospectively, SIMSCI had been drifting down continuously without a pause. No entry point for me.

Hi Jest,
You are right ,there was a failure swing. It was a setup for short position. However, it only met my entry rule around 1130am, 293.6. That was the first entry I missed as I was away from my screen. Second entry, which I managed to get in was around 292.3.
Basically, the way I trade consists of two part

Setup: decision for direction of trade
Entry: Price action rules to establised a position.

I will be writing about setup and entry later of the day.

Exactly, if we don't understand something, we have to learn, no doubt about this point. E-wave works for some traders, no doubt also. However, this is not an essential part of technical analysis, I categorize this theory as an 'add-on' or value added for overall technical analysis studies. Good to know, but if it confused your over strategy, leave it alone.

btw, do you guys have any books to share it here? I will list out the title on the website later.

My charting service does not allow me to program divergence. My trade setup is more than indicator divergence, that's why I have to concentrate on the real time movement. Anyway, it is a good idea to have the alert program Do you have any of them in mind? Do drop me an email to discuss.

My strategy is built on 10-min for SIMSCI. I am not into 1 min scalping. Mixing around different timeframe to find opportunity does not optimize performance.
The last position I would take for this type of situation is sitting on cash. Cash is a position as well.

Agree. Just how ugly is the 1 min chart of SIMSCI. Liquidity is a big problem of SIMSCI. But opportunities still exists in SG market.

I suppose this is a permanent changed. Now the chart is provided by Futuresource, and it is a delayed chart.
It was a real time chart, with delay less than 2 minutes, instead of 2 bar.

I am spending time looking for real time web based chart provider now. Please do drop me a line you have any good data vendor to recommend.

I agree with the relief rally theory. I provides punter or short term trader opportunity to profit from it. If you were to do trend trading, this is not the time. That's what I am doing. I will only be interested when trend is established.

I traded spot forex. A bucket shop product. You are not trading in the exchange, you are indeed trading with your broker. And it is unregulated. And spikes or system unavailability will normally happen during news release day, e.g NFP

I am now focusing on currency futres instead.

Interesting musings.

I think it all comes down to the individual. Everyone has their own thoughts, concepts, agendas, plans etc...

One person might just want to hear or experiment with these samples, but another is prob gonna try make a hit with them. Horses for courses. Personally I'm still a fan of old fashioned beat digging. Is that a lost art now? Surely it would feel a lot more satisfying to find a break on some obscure record and work that into your own piece, rather than sample from a sample (effectively).

I had a similar discussion with a friend that runs a record shop a few years back. We were saying it is sad that now when a young person hears a recognisable beat they are recognising it from the track that used the sample, rather than the original track itself. But who is meant to be educating these people, do they give a shit and does anyone give a shit? What really matters anymore? I don't even know the right answers to those questions... if there are any right answers.

It takes all sorts I suppose. I knew a guy that sampled from 96kbps snippets off websites - another friend of mine nearly choked on his cereal at his revelation, cos he was a bit of a perfectionist and would never dream of touching source material with such a shitty quality himself.

Still, with Soulja Boy crankin' that shit etc... nothing surprises me these days.
