Mac OS X Server and Logic Studio would be two more Apple apps that require serials.

Yeah, both of which are very expensive.

in Dear Friends, Why I support Obama on Dan Cameron
Careful there. Suggesting that the opposing party actually wants a terrorist attack, when it's more likely that they simply have differing views on how to prevent one, detracts from one's credibility and causes people to wonder if your tinfoil hat is on just a bit too tight. ;)
(Not a Bush defender and not all that excited about McCain, though I do take the terrorist threat seriously)

Not sure who suggested it here but the McCain campaign has suggested
themselves that an attack on US soil would help their McCain win the white
house. I'll find the video.

I think iSquint only converts to iPod format (as opposed to, say, Apple TV or .avi).

And MacBook Pros. I believe in a universal, inalienable right to always have the latest model MacBook Pro.

Soon eBay will no longer allow sellers to leave negative feedback about buyers. They are doing this precisely to put a stop to the retaliatory negative feedback.

in Entourage ‘08 on Dan Cameron
Off the top of my head, you can buy Apple Remote Desktop 10-client edition for $299, or unlimited-client edition for $499. There's a similar structure for Mac OS X Server. Although it's not quite the same, since in this case it's the scope of the license that changes rather than the featureset.
Still, Entourage without Exchange support is just another POP/IMAP client with a throw-in calendar function. Might as well stick to Mail.app with iCal. Honestly, that's probably what most home users will do; Word for writing letters, Excel for the family budget, Mail.app for e-mail and iCal for calendar. My guess would be that MS specifically left out Exchange support in the home version to head off business users who might just grab the home version figuring "no one will know the difference."

Not to mention, it still keeps all its data in a giant database file the same way 2004 did. This means extremely poor compatibility with Time Machine. Every time your database file changes (say you get an e-mail or add an event to your calendar), Time Machine will make a completely separate backup copy of your Entourage database. Kind of inconvenient if your database is several gigabytes in size (not to mention with all your data in only one file, the slightest bit of file corruption means your entire Entourage environment is completely hosed).

Congrats! I was going to tell you to skip Vista and go down to Norm Reeves Honda in Cerritos (when we bought our Pilot, Vista insisted on MSRP while Norm Reeves went well below invoice) but then I read on and found they treated you well. :)
Hondas rule, we love our 2007 Pilot and 2002 Civic.

Just do a sync before the restore (which will back up all your data). Once the restore is complete iTunes will put back your music, settings, etc. It's completely seamless.
As to the warranty, I don't know if it's technically a violation or not, but I really don't think you'll have any problems.

It can't damage your iPod touch in the slightest. Anytime you want to undo the jailbreak and restore your iPod touch to its original condition just do a "restore" in iTunes.

Alan: all you need to do is go to jailbreakme.com on your iPhone or iPod touch... you don't need to make a paypal donation or "d/l any crack software."

Franky: Make sure you install the BSD Subsystem. Many of the 3rd party apps depend on it, and they'll crash without it.
A friend of mine went to the Apple Store and jailbroke all the iPhone and iPod touch demo units, just for fun. I wonder how long before Apple Stores start blocking jailbreakme.com. :D

in Creating OS X Leopard Install on a USB Drive or iPod on Dan Cameron
Yep, this rocks--I keep a partition on my portable drive with a clone of the Mac OS X Server install DVD. The installation flies (as well it should since you're not tied to the speed limitations of DVD-ROM), and that's an advantage when you've got a crashed server and VP's standing over your shoulder asking when it's going to be back up.
And Windows cannot read any Mac filesystems natively, although I think there are 3rd-party apps you can install to do it.

I guess potential iPhone developers are upset because 3rd party apps will be contained within Safari, sort of the way Dashboard widgets are in OS X. I can see how it would be preferable to be able to develop standalone apps, but considering it was looking like Apple was going to close the iPhone off from 3rd party development completely, I guess it's better than nothing.
Since iPhone supports IMAP and now that Kerio MailServer talks to iCal and Address Book, it's actually a little tempting. Put in at least a 60GB drive and drop the price by $200 and I'll turn in my BlackBerry and make a beeline for the Cingular store.

Man, I hate voicemail too. Especially when someone could just as easily send me an e-mail, but they try to call because they think they'll get my attention faster. Sign me up!!
