16-I don't have a stalker, but I have a crazy person that talks (leaves comments) to the pictures of the celebrities as if the pictures were the real live person; it's quite freaky

15-American Ganster was not that great to me. I've seen quite a few documentaries and I would have focused the movie on Frank Lucas the ganster. I wanted it to be more like Scarface, hell more like Belly, but it seemed too universal for my taste. Definitely not a cult classic for me.

9-I would get in our Dorango, roll my windows down, and run around the neighborhood screaming, "I'm Rich Bitch!" (hunk hunk). I just always wanted to do it, and mean it.

8- I know it sounds cliche, but my husband. I tell him everything, we do everything together. I have known him for 15 years and he just gets me- no questions asked. Then there are my ABC's (Alina, Bianca, Claudia). Alina is the free spirited one and drama always finds her (so she says), boy I can write a book about our life. Anyway she's my Thelma. Bianca just loves the idea of love, the most beautiful girl, but can't find the right love. She has the biggest heart of anyone I know, and will reach the stars for you if you asked her to. Claudia - the most like me.

7-Loyal, Passionate - (The first to fight for you the last to leave your side); Honest - I will say what's on my mind, so you will never have to wonder what I think...Protective (sometimes too much)

5-domestic violence is someone who loves too much and never learned how to deal with the pains of life. I think it's love, they just don't know how to channel their love. Sometimes it's about insecurity, and other times it's about possession.

My favorite song on here is Marvin Gaye Just to Satisfy You. I didn't hear this song until Baby Boy, but every since then it has been a favorite. It's not a sad love song for me, it's a soulful hit. I can play it over and over, even when things are going great.

It's nice to see men step-up to the plate, it's hard raising children, and when you do it alone or as a single parent, my heart goes out to you because it's hard for me with a great partner. So I realize those that do it solo are strong and dedicated individuals.

This post really touch my heart. I didn't grow-up with my father, but as I got older we became closer, and when my mom passed, he was in my life to feel the void. Now we are closer than ever, and I thank God for the timing. My mother never spoke bad about him and always lifted him up.

10- I don't understand the hoopla over the speech either, it was given on father's day by a black man not raised by his father, but trying to do the right things by his daughters. Huffington Post had an article about black women and anxiety during this election cycle. It touched on our anxiety that there is hate out there that will prevent Obama from winning. We have become invested and our fears are genuine.

You already know Just My Imagination is my favorite song of all times, I think that's one of the songs that helped start this meme. This is another song my mom and I use to sing on road trips before she passed.

During the election this year, that Marvin Gaye song was timeless. I felt like he wrote it today, it was so relevant. Will forever be the non-classic classic.

"If I were your woman, and you were my man", you were born in great year. I had to really search through some stuff to find the good ones in my year.

I just told Thembi, I wanted to chose T-shirt and Panties, but thought it might be to racy. In college that song was played at every party although it did not get a lot of radio-play. Great Choice!

I actually like the Carpenters version a lot, except when it gets to the chorus. She should have just went solo on the lyrics.

Stephanie Mills and Regina King were my favorite singers when I was young, too. I use to play her songs on the juke box in the restaurant near our house. She had so many hits in the 80's and then she disappeared....

I don't think you can pick a wrong song. Right now all his songs are my favorite. I'm finding songs I forgot existed.

His passing makes me feel like my childhood is slipping away. I don't have my original vinyl because I used it as a Frisbee, and threw it into a brick by accident, and it broke into pieces.

Don't stop and Rock With You are probably my two favorites, but as I discovered today, I have so many.

My husband told me to post Man In the Mirror, I should have listened, but I had a hard time narrowing it down to four.

I think Janet Jackson said it best last night, to us he's an idol, to them he's family. Meaning behind all the fame, he was human, and not a super-human, his legacy was bigger than what he as human could shoulder, and so was his heart. So he tried his best to be super-human, when all he ever needed to be was himself. I can't imagine the pressure he was under as being the best that ever was, but I know it's something I wouldn't be able to shoulder.

It felt like he was projecting his childhood onto the kids, and all he ever wanted was to be loved and have that fatherly touch of affection. He clearly said you haven't been where I've been, and that we make it disgusting. I have sons, and as soon as they're dad walk through the door from a long day of work, they rush to him with hugs and kisses, they need that from their father. When he's in the bed sleeping in late, they wake him up by wrestling with him, climbing all over him. We will never know what happened, but from his description it wasn't about an attraction, it was about fulfilling a void.

The Magic Negro is a misnomer, and a myth. When you set someone up with so much greatness they are bound to fall short of your standards.

Koreans are like that, the point of cops is to portray a negative image of certain types of people. There are Korean gangs and they can be quite ruthless. It's a matter of time, when people come to America their cultures just lose their minds.

I also think Bill Cosby spoke some truth and someone needs to wake up and say it. He attacked the parents of the kids today, and rightfully so. Our generation parents failed us compared to those of generations passed. Instead of fighting racism they succumb to it. We once valued education and morals, and now kids are raising themselves. Dirty laundry hurts, but if it's piling up we need to do something about it, air it, clean it, and fold it up.

I believe in my people, I see the beauty in the things they do everyday. So colorful and so creative. I just want us to see our collective value and help each other out of the barrel.

Bin Laden has dropped the tape, and he wants to attack Arab nations that support Israel. How is he sending these tapes, by now you'd think they would be able to trace it back to where he is, but they can't even trace it back to anyone connected to him. I don't have a problem with black men that date outside of their race, but I do have a problem with black men who date exclusively outside of their race. I have problem with any person that dates exclusively outside of their race. It's fine to have a preference, but if a member of your race has never been apart of the equation, then I think there's an underlining issue that has nothing to do with preferences, but prejudices...

Black women are opening their options, but not at the exclusion of black men...

At least you can put your work out there, I get nervous every time I have to submit a story or have a critique. I have so many hats, but I'm actually a writer. I have a degree in English Lit with a specialty in Creative Writing - Fiction from SMU.
