That was horrifying. To believe a
powerful white male would torture people for pleasure is an abomination.

That he is Jewish, is also outrageous. Much like Sarah Silverman, too many Jewish comics believe they are 'edgy' when they're racist.

At some point, they've got to be called on this shit.

The conundrum, is that Jews as a group are so powerful, you could really ruin your chance at a livelihood, if you did.

I want to be clear that being a Jewish comedian doesn't automatically render you racist, or for that matter, even Jewish.

It's just that way more Jewish comedians take shots (that can't be returned) that are painful and ugly.

We have a HUGE number of black comedians who do unfunny harm, with their "white people do this" and "black people do this" schtick. It just hurts my feelings, when Jewish comedians do it for the cheap.

That said: just be funny. Don't base it upon your lineage, unless it's actually funny. "White people do it this way, and black people do it THAT way" is some tired nonsense.

Using hurtful stereotypes, words, and monolithic generalizations hurt everyone. Even when they don't know it.

Bring the funny, and leave your baggage in the dumpster.

That said, the racist joker in the video, driving the undocumented workers to the INS wasn't funny. He was just cruel.

The world could do with a whole lot less of him, than people looking for slave-wage work.

Congratulations, Siditty!

I delivered drug-free in a birthing center, and that was many years ago. I still remember all of the good stuff-- the music we played, how hungry I was (be sure to eat before you go!), and how my body seemed to have a life of its own.

Once I realized it was doing all the work, I was able to flow with it, marvelously. It was a wonderful life-altering experience, and I wouldn't change it for anything.

My midwife wasn't available, and while her replacement was very kind, her breath was really bad. After a few strong contractions, I was able to tell her she had to do something about it, but the real lesson was that this was my time. Even at such a vulnerable time, I hope you continue to assert yourself during your delivery, just as you have on your blog.

After my beautiful daughter was born, everything became her time, of course-- but put yourself first, until then.

Write the DNC, everyone. Tell them that you will NOT vote for that vile piece of garbage no matter what. Tell them not for VP, not for POTUS, not if she were running for dogcatcher. Remember-- they're counting on the black vote. They already know that more than half of the whites and others won't vote for her.

Rikyrah is right on point. Obama was betrayed, and he had to respond.

Our charismatic is not a man who has never made a mistake. He's still a man, and a decent one at that.

I would like Billary to be held accountable for at least 25% of her fuckups (and you say that here?). Her sniper fire lie alone, would have benched any other candidate, white or black. Her membership in the Hitlerian Fellowship should be equal fodder. But it isn't.

I am a feminist, womanist, or hatever you want to call those of us who struggle for black women; and have been for decades, and I am black. I am married to a black man, happily, and for a loong time. I am feminist in response to the EXTREME masculinism of black men. Most black men have demonstrated and/or declared by their actions and their cultural afiliations that black women are the enemy to them. It has broken my heart.
Mine is not a sisterhood with the racist white women that constitute so much of what so many of you call "mainstream feminists". They are neither-- mainstream, nor feminist. They're privileged white women with outsized entitlement pathologies. You couldn't find one of those biyotches for years (a woman claiming she's 'feminist'), until Monster falsely claimed it by campaigning on her skank husband's resume.

Take a harder look at what we say to each other and how it's said. There is not a goddammed thing wrong with a black woman claiming- demanding equality. There is everything wrong with our serial slandering, libel, murders, rapes, and denials of its impact.

My sisterhood is with brothers. You're not my brother if you believe the casual blackwoman hate in so many cultural mores is acceptable to you.

This thread is one of the least informed I've ever seen here.

I think Wright's press tour is unnecessary, his attacks on Obama are reprehensible, and once again, something good is being derailed by the egomania of yet another black preacher. I don't like Wright. I don't like that his church is buying him a 1.6 million dollar home (his congregation is not rich) in a white neighborhood, and he seems to be doing every thing he can, to throw my candidate under the bus.
