in The secret to Following on Level343's Blog
You know, I just went through and cleaned out my followers from all the people who are just generating noise. I was trying to figure out a way to simplify the process of whether or not to follow and it looks like you did a great job here. I think I also need to start looking further back in people's tweets to see if they constantly post good info. I noticed that many people I follow have one or two good tweets and the rest are rediculous, but I follow them because I figure they might say more useful stuff...alas, this is not the case.

in The day Twitter died on Level343's Blog
Gabriella,

Great post. I agree, especially about the robots. I hate the cold feeling of Twitter. Me, I am a warm guy, or at least I would like to think so. Interaction is a good thing and the people who Auto DM just tweak my last nerve.

As for the RT, that is a great point. You have to give a little, and there isn't anything wrong with expecting a little in return...that is, as long as you are returning the favor when the tables are turned. It makes for a very social atmosphere.

Nicely done!

Gabriella Thanks Sal... I have been changing some things I do on twitter. For example I don't do #FollowFriday as much... I have been busy on Friday's (go figure) To be honest with you I don't see that much of a change on those days so keeping up with "rules & regulations" is to stay unpredictable.

in Walk A Little Bit At A Time on Big Man Walking
I can't wait to see how how the loss is with the Maker's Diet. I have heard nothing but great reports on it. I have yet to pick up a copy and glance through it. Would you mind telling us, rather less informed folk, what exactly the Maker's Diet is and how it works?

BigManWalking I'm not informed enough to tell you how it works. I know it's good wholesome food and you start out with a cleanse which means practically that you have restricted the foods you can have. You eat mostly, but not exclusively a natural chicken soup for the first ten days and you only drink water. I'm not an expert in nutrition, but eating real vegetables and meats (especially organic) makes sense to me. Plus, you have things you might not have though of in the soup such as coconut oil and ginger. I hope that answers your question.

in Zoë’s Exit Interview and Previewing the Next Blog on Chuck Westbrook's Blog
Has it really been 2 weeks already? It seem like just yesterday you were announcing Zoe. I can't wait to see who the next blogger is, but to tell the truth, Zoe is going to remain in my reader. Her style is awesome, easy to understand, and was even a painful kick in the pants right when I needed it the most.

Chuck Westbrook Exactly how I feel. The time flew by, and yet there are a few who want it to go faster still!

in Derailed! on Becoming A Writer Seriously
I am glad you have everything fixed after the visit from Murphy. For some reason, my reader didn't have any problems. I don't know. Well, glad to have you back up and running, now let's get that reader count back up!

tomcolvin Thanks for your comment -- and glad to know that your feed is one of the
"survivors." I still cannot figure out just what happened -- and why the
problem affected some and not others.

in How You Can Help End the Problem of Blogs With Great Content and No Readers on Chuck Westbrook's Blog
Chuck, my blog doesn't accept trackbacks, so I will just comment here like originally requested. I am interested and will post something on my site later today. This is going to be awesome, I can't wait to read all the new blogs!

in One thing the government doesn’t want you to do before you die! on Financial Beast
You would think that would be the case here too. Well, I guess not if your government wasn't in so much financial turmoil. I'd sign the petition.

in Nominate Your Favorite Writing Blog for 3rd Annual Top 10 Blogs for Writers Contest on Writing White Papers
I nominate Writer Dad @ http://writerdad.com/ without hesitation. Writer Dad has a phenominal writing style, and while he is not necessiarly a writing blog, just take a look at the comments. You will see that more than half of the comments left are based on his writing style, either how he has pulled a reader into his world, or how he can instantly, with the stroke of a key, take you back to that hot summer day when you were sitting on the porch eating a creamsicle with your grandfather.

in Never Lose An Idea on Becoming A Writer Seriously
I usually, just like Nathan, have a little pocket notebook and a pen on hand (something I got into the habit of when I was in the military, you were in deep...err trouble, if you were ever caught without a pen handy). For instance, this morning when I was sitting in traffic on my way to work, I saw a billboard that I had nver really paid any attention to. Something sparked, and I began writing. By the time I got out of the traffic, I had a pretty descent outline for a post that will be coming out later this week.

tomcolvin I always carry a canvas book bag which has a side pocket just the right size
to hold a stenographer's pad. I like that option as the pages are bigger
than pocket notebooks.

I usually review the notebook every Sunday and often rip out a page and put
it into a dated file folder. I picked up this trick from the Getting Things
Done process.

BTW, I'll check your blog to see just what inspiration hit you in traffic.
Craig I have a favorite brand of pen. The Space Pen. I do not, however, have a favorite pocket notebook. May I ask what kind you carry? I usually use scraps of paper or old grocery lists laying around. If you use a particular kind of pocket notebook, Iet me know.
