If M. Ward's "Four Hours in Washington" won't do (isn't he from the northwest?), and things like school fight songs and state anthems are off the table, finding a song about the state with "Washington" in the title is a toughie. I know of one, but I don't have a copy. The song is "Washington, Washington" on Stuart Hendrickson's "Songs of The Pacific Northwest," which is available on CDbaby.com but not from Amazon. Everyone knows this is a cover, right? Recorded by John Lee Hooker for his album "Burning Hell," but better known from the version on "Hooker 'n' Heat" with Canned Heat. JLH's producer, Bernie Besmen, usually gets co-authorship credit.
