They need to somehow show new apps. Top 25 or top 50 is ridiculous if 25k exist. Prob is the buried apps get no usage or reviews (reviews are key). Maybe have a way to showcase cool new apps based on the current ones you use. Like Genius on itunes. Allow use to filter the number and pay or free to review before trying.

I think fb has MORE use for a novice web user for connections.
The advanced web user has connections thru a variety of tools. LinkedIn,Flickr,Twitter etc so the fb value is diluted.

So, a web power user will not find it as engaging or valuable.

Interesting. I think this same conversation was had when fb came onto the scene. It was so much better than checking back at person webpages etc. as twitter grows I suspect it will run into some of the same bloating issues. My guess is that it will add some of the options as tumblr (causing minor bloating). All of these apps are prone to bloating once they reach a critical mass of users. Options and filters to keep them streamlined is the key. FB needs this badly and twitter should keep this in mind. why not be able to group contacts and push updates out to only certain contacts? Why can we not increase or decrease the twitt chatter of some users over another?

I like racing but I won't add a twitt contact that does a minute by minute update to the latest race. Totally annoying..

totally understand. I was in the same boat last week. Wife and I lounged in bed and on the couch until 4pm last Saturday. Out of bed...eat...straight to the couch for football. Man, I felt so much better the next day.
Maybe you can do that in Vegas or LA? Doubtful...
