in Dishonorable John McCain is losing his marbles on The Jed Report
It's an EPIC troll. They're trying to provoke Obama's camp to get dirty and even he if doesn't, they're banking lies becoming subliminal memes, and these memes becoming 'truths.'
This is primal, base, low ball politics. And for large swaths of the electorate whose only half-paying attention, it works. These people are masters of deception. They know they're being disingenuous and they just don't care. The ends justify the means. Think troll.
Another f-ed up thing to consider is that any grass-roots response from people like us with no formal affliation with Obama is painted by them as being from the campaign. Their spokesmen is literally calling NY Times editorial board "a bunch of bloggers in their mom's basement ranting between games of D&D"
Epic troll strategy

in Edwards more of a boost than Clinton? on The Jed Report
I think you should trust your gut and Iowa, Jed. The only chance Obama has with the archtypical "Appalachian" mindset (it's more than just the region) is with Edwards. He's a fighter (and people really believe it), he's for the little guy, and he's southern. Warner and Obama would be dubbed the "Harvard ticket" and play to his weakness. Webb is not as red state effective as his (razor thin) victory of Allen would have believe, Kaine is still relatively unkown, and Sebelius is already being slamed hard on support of partial-birth abortion and was just denied communion at the catholic church or something like that.
Edwards plays to his strengths, will stay on message, and has done this before.
Admittedly I'm biased because he was my first choice - but I don't care who Obama picks as long as it gives him the best chance in Nov. This poll confirms my gut feelings....and what some simpleton HRC supporters I know have been saying it will take them to vote for him.

in More hard-hitting journalism from TPM on The Jed Report
I wish Bill were explaining to W Virginians that it's the Republicans who have been pretending to be like them, pretending to share their values, and defend their interests, but have been secretly laughing at them, making fun of them, and quite literally, selling them down the river for years and years.

In the spirit of Johnny's crap(s) --- It's like a self defeating roulette bet: She's got black...and red. Only I think Dick Morris calls it triangulation ;-)

in Pay for traffic: Incentive or distortion? on Mathew's comments
As a (still) avid digger and participant in social media sites like digg, my concern is the amount of spam and abuse on these social news networks and the increase of "throwing mud at the wall to see what sticks" to help bloggers increase their traffic and thusly pay.
There already is tons of commercial content being submitted as "viral" content - some of it's OK, some of it's horrible. Sadly, The SEO/SMO crowd has infiltrated/merged with many of the site's top and/or prominent submitters.
My concern is that this trend is going to further dampen the already poor signal-to-noise ratio in social media.
Are we in for more "Cosmo headlines" and worse "cosmo content?"

Set aside his personal views on religion or evolution, etc...this guy seriously is running on a platform that includes dismantling the Dept. of Education, the EPA, Dept of Health and Human Services, Abolishing our banking/ money system (The Fed), promising to completely eliminate the IRS, etc, and more... that stuff is batshit crazy!
IMHO, His firm anti-war/ foreign policy stance is what has garnered him the most support...after that you kind of need to start drinking the libertarian "RonJuice" and forget that we live in the 21st century.

lot of Obama supporters were favorably inclined towards edwards but support
obama because they thought he was a more viable option to beating clinton.
