mark, ok it has been a few months since i posted anything. i just had to say that i really enjoyed your take on this passage. it makes the most sense. i never really knew what to do with it.

you are right there mark. i am trying to find a way to move from this approach towards a more intentional way. i agree that i hope this is not the accepted way. i hope that churches in that place do not stop there. i am just figuring this stuff out. it isnt a small commitment you have made choosing to walk out your faith the way you and your family has. i respect it and i am trying to move that way. right now i feel some of the things i do is condescending and paternalistic. but how do i move this direction while living in the suburbs? it has to be possible right? or ami just justifying my lifestyle? sorry to make a work of satire so heavy. i am just trying to figure out why i am feeling the way i feel. is it conviction calling me to action or unnecessary guilt i am putting on myself? maybe it is a little of both.

it is a fine work mark. well done. but in my humble opinion it does seem to have a touch of a little arrogance. that was not your intent i am sure,so i am not accusing, i am just saying how it sounds. these folks are doing something. while this is fiction, it is still representative of someone. i guess i am trying to figure out if this way of church is acceptable. i am trying to figure it out because this is my way of church currently. maybe that is why some of it bothers me. for me, i am in process. i am heading a direction. 2 years ago i wouldn't have done much at all about social problems or understood the kingdom of god. now, i know i am not where i am meant to be yet, but my family journey's with me and we move at a pace acceptable to all of us. so take it easy on us in transition, we are getting there;)


ps -i do have a sense of humor. it was funny. i just thought i would speak from my pov.

i am one of the folks who checked the box "not sure" in the survey on the side. i don't know where i fall in this whole discussion of global warming and/or climate change. While I am not a believer in global warming, I do understand the need to care for the world around us. I am trying to do some of the things mentioned here. I just struggle because basically we have to pick which scientists to believe and which ones not to.
Back in 70's they were going to try to melt some of the ice caps because they thought that there was too much building up.



now i am only asking, how do we know we aren't over reacting? I am not saying don't care for the environment. I am considered a tree hugger around my parts. I am just asking how do we know who to believe? Obviously the climate is changing. How much is natural and how much is on us? it seems for every scientist saying one thing there is one saying another. all i can do is try to be a faithful follower of Christ.
