in TweetDeck Cripples PC on Get A New Browser
It's not TweetDeck itself to blame here, it's the AIR framework. You could write the world's simplest "Hello World" program on AIR and it'll be amazingly bloated when you run it. On the upside, at least for developers, it's a lot less work to have an application running on multiple platforms. Even writing a .NET app that can use the same executable on multiple platforms involves a fair bit of testing and platform-specific work; with AIR, usually It Just Works.
Trade-offs are everywhere in development; in this case memory usage versus ease of development for multiple platforms.

I've had Twhirl go a little nuts too but that's with several account windows open. I can see it being AIR but there's definitely an issue with Tweetdeck

in Posting and Pulling Comments From FriendFeed on DISQUS Blog and Forum
So, is it possible for me to have this set up so that comments made on my site get pushed to FriendFeed, but not the other way around?

There's a Drupal module for Tweetbacks now, too: http://coldacid.net/blog/2009/01/08/tweetbacks-...

Well, DaMav isn't topping now. Still, sounds like it could be easily gamed.

in What is your retweet rank? on Saurabh Sahni
When someone retweets a retweet, does that count toward the original tweeter, the first retweeter, or both?

It counts as a retweet for both.

in Should You Avoid the “Scoble-Dilemma?” on Marketing Pilgrim
The real answer to avoid having the rug pulled out from under you is to put some investment into every network you come across. Doesn't have to be as much as Scoble has put into Twitter and FriendFeed; in fact, just a bit more than minimum should be good enough to keep from being spread out so thin. (Or use a service or program that lets you cross-post to all of them at once, if you're looking at the same crowd on each.)
This way, even if a couple of those services go under, the rest are still there and working, and you don't really have to worry about rebuilding what you've lost. Having your own website to pull it all together doesn't hurt, either, though.

in Testing out the latest Windows Live Writer on Scobleizer
Finally, a new version! Hopefully this means that the RTW versions of wave 3 will be released before February rolls around.

in DISQUS and Facebook Connect under the mistletoe on DISQUS Blog and Forum
It's all good to be adding this, but until Facebook starts handing out API keys without requiring an application to go with it, there's no point to it for any of us.

Sounds great! But you'll need to update the WLW plugin before I can see any of these updates, since the public beta just released doesn't like the current version of the plugin.
