in The Technology Liberation Front » Archive » More on Skype’s Petition to Regulate Cellphone Carriers on The Technology Liberation Front
Skype hasn't even released the client for the symbian phones but already petitioning FCC? I have Nokia E60 and I am still waiting for the client. One of the reasons I bought the phone was to make VOIP calls. Interestingly enough, this phone, and E61 (both are WI-fi enabled) isn't sold in US, so I had to get it from Europe.

in Joost Internet TV Set to Revive Net Neutrality Battle on The Technology Liberation Front
I agree with jeff. Not everyone is going to be using Joost and users can always close the background application to preserve the bandwidth. What really should be done is an update of U.S. Internet networks up to world's standards. U.S. Internet providers (Comcast, for example) are experiencing enormous growth but yet prices keep increasing and speeds decreasing. It just seems simpler and cheaper to change the law.

Bandwidth Buyers Guide is your #1 guide for instant comparisons on T1 lines, T3 access, and various high speed providers.

in Google’s YouTube Losing Viacom Deal to Joost.com? on Marketing Pilgrim
YouTube is already paying enormous amounts for the bandwidth. How's Joost.com going to be profitable from advertising alone if the content they are going to offer is "full episodes with high-quality resolution"?
And then again, how legal it is to distribute full length episodes?

in Cable competition apparently not working fast enough on The Technology Liberation Front
As it often happens customers don't have a real choice. Rarely do both companies provide service in the same area. Obviously, competition isn't working, if it did prices and speed wouldn't be much different from the rest of the developed world.

Nationwide Bandwidth provides quality and world class DSL, T1 and T3 lines at an amazing price.
