You know I don't think that was the UK stig on oz top gear.
I base this on no known facts just the way stiggy was in the cars doing his laps.

In UK top gear he seems to sit straight and still. whereas in the 2 eps I watched of oz top gear he was shifting in his seat and was leaning his head forward.

Doesn't mean a thing to anyone but if anyone has any time go and watch some footage of the UK stig then watch a few of the oz stig and tell me if you think it's the same person going solely by his body language/driving position.

Mike, Well I admit I haven't adhered to the law of 3 and I admit that I posted after only watching a bit of an episode but the 2/3rds of 1 episode I saw was pretty funny aus comedy :) I must admit I did think "one joke pony" a few times while I was watching but then so is hollowmen and I still dig that :)
"Review" made me laugh out loud a few times during the ep that I saw which is more than I can say of most aussie comedies recently :)

I'm an optimist and always hope for the best from aus shows....except for the wedge....that sucked arse.....and ronnie johns....trying so hard to be "off the wall" comedy it ended up in the back garden. Very small business is piss funny though.

I've just stumbled upon a cracker of a show on abc2 at 9:30 thurs nights.
It's called "Review"and basically it's a show where a rich, pretentious, overly verbose arts critic type guy called Myles reviews basic life stuff. Like in this episode he reviews "stealing"where he starts with stealing a comb and then escalates his thievery before giving stealing 3 stars :)
He then reviews "dickhead mates""running out your partner in cricket" (one star) and "being a bushranger"

It's Australian comedy and I'm really enjoying it and am glad I stumbled across it. So check it out.

I'm with tpg and last week moved to their new 150gb for $69 adsl2+ plan.
It. Is. Awesome. 40gb between 7am and 1am (fine I was on 50gb for $89) and 110gb between 1am and 7am.

I tell you bitmetv, utorrent 1.6 scheduling and this plan and I'm in tv heaven.

Eps of 45min shows like house download in around 4 minutes.

Sure I'm close to the exchange but even so I have never had an issue with tpg.

So anyone looking for a change from bigpond or whatever, if you can get adsl2+ this is the plan for you!

While I won't be going out and ordering any nuts online or homeschooling my kids or any of that crap I must say that I did get into Jericho and wish it hadn't been cancelled.

It had answers to questions in a timely fashion and even though the last few episodes sucked hard it still looked set for an interesting 2nd season. Sure it was a bit too holesome and could have really been something special had it really gone for the violence, fear and confusion that would no doubt come after a nuclear apocolypse.

But I guess the family and small town angle was expected to rate better in the mid west than mad max :)

It's all about how the show was skewed, it was skewed for families and not (as it should have been) to the (early) millenium and x-files audience. And that was the problem.

what a bugger! I was sort of getting into this show.
It was interesting, a bit slow, but watchable.
That's a real shame!
I wonder if they'll do anything to help wrap the story up? The ending was a cliff-hanger after all.

Ross I think you may be right about showing a few eps and then binning it.

As anyone who has seen the show can attest it starts out slowly...and also it doesn't really have "a target demographic" because it's a pretty schizo show....half adult drama half sci fi and half childrens show.

I know that's 3 halves....:) I'm just trying to make a point :)

I dig Torchwood. The first season has about 2 eps to go but it's been picked up for a 2nd season albeit on bbc2 this year.
it's a strange show, alot of the reviewers hit it on the head when they talk about it wanting to be adult but also being very cartoonish. If you can get a few eps into it I think you'll enjoy it as it gets more mature as the season goes on but still very enjoyable.

Oh also the other dr. who spin of the sarah jane show has aired in the uk I haven't seen it yet but it's out torrent.

I used to LOVE the d-gen, dgenocide and the late show were part of my upbringing.
However this the panel christmas wrap-up FARCE has just REALLY pissed me off!

I have been over "the panel" for a while, I think it ran out of steam about 4 years ago and I stopped bothering to watch it about 3 years ago.

But still my mate and I thought we'd watch this xmas wrap up with an eye to hopefully seeing "a year in review" by some of the d-gen crew.

All I have to say is SHAME ON YOU channel 10 for disguising a bullshit add ridden standard episode of the panel as something of a special. They did nothing but plug aus-stereo's crap hosts for the first 20 mins, then they plugged andrew simonds' book (wtf does that have to do with xmas?) then they plugged ford, then they did an awful live ford ad disguised as a sketch then they plugged myer and THEN they did a live Myer add, THEN....we turned off and watched a fairly decent tele-sync of casino royale.

Something has to be said about this. I mean even the working dog crew must have felt dirty and needed a long shower after they filmed this sickening contractual obligation/screen time grabbing abortion of a show!

The best bit was tony martin's "5 almost funny moments of the year". Yes it was a plug for MMM but at least it had SOMETHING to do with a year in review/wrap up type thing.


So yeah, sorry but I just really got sad when I watched a divx of "the olden days" and "bargearse" tonight and something snapped!

To get on topic, I LOVED the show! just finished listening to it this arvo and the shambolickness of it all was very funny and even though Brett was either on Acid or (as he says) over tired, I thought it had a hell of a lot of energy and heaps of laughs.

So yeah even though you guys were against it I really hope you do it again next year. Hell if you continue you meteoric media rise and are on the radio or (god forbid) on the box yourselves next year maybe you could do another "ordered items show" for those of us who "knew you when" :)
