I knew it was Martian *smug wtf*
Awww, I can feel the love your family and friends have for you all the way from Australia okay! I mean Martian and his mom and bestie and Suet conspiring to pull wool over your eyes was too, too hilarious! And the hugggggggge box from your family, filled with the soft toys like the ambiguous cow-pig (hahahaah why is your brother so funny!). And the uber-cute bouquet and balloon from your aunt!
So, so sweet!
ps: Okay, maybe the appendicitis and ABORTION bit wasn't that sweet, but it was still done out of love.
ABORTION WTF LIEW SUET LI, WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING AHAHAHAHAH! And why did she hasten to assure you that it was Barry's baby ahahaahahah! As though it would be likely to be anyone else's hahahahah.

Thorough as ever Su Ann!
And of course, kind-hearted as ever - this will be a godsend to anyone's who's planning to go to college in the US =)
ps: I love the blurb at the end - how's calculus going hahahah? Okay, that was kinda cruel. But you'll be okay Su Ann - scale the calculus mountain thou shalt!

Props for Su Ann being the only Malaysian international student in the 2008 intake! =)
How gorgeous is the campus, and the architecture? The interior of St Pauls is particularly lovely - so sumptuous and baroque-looking!
And the blue skies are so.......blue hahahah.
Y'know people tend to think of Columbia U as having a fairly urban campus (not in terms of its location, but in terms of the campus itself?), would you say yea/ nay to that Su Ann, as you have first-hand experience? =)
#23 - Hahahah, vas deferens! Witty - me likeys =)

This epitomises everything that is wrong with Malaysia.
No one Down Under believes me when I tell them the government practises sanctioned racism - maybe this will help prove my point.

Looks like you're having a great time in the Big Apple Su Ann!
But then I knew you would, something about you being you, and your affinity for a big city with a cosmopolitan vibe (can it get any more cosmopolitan than NY I ask you!)
#16 is completely surreal - does it not look like a scene out of the inumerable movies featuring Times Square front and center?
As for #12, yes you do have that whole Brigitte Bardot pout thing going - unconsciously maybe hahah!
ps: You and Martian are going to be fine. Really. Truly. I know that you being in NY does not equate to him being in Sing/ HK, but if you want to be together, you guys will make it happen *hugs* Meanwhile, skype and webcamming sessions we come, damn the time difference hahaah!
pps: You're not going to write for any papers? Really? But that would be such a waste, no? Or do you have too much on your plate already?

Good luck Su Ann and welcome to the next exciting phase of your life - tertiary education woot! =)
I am sure you'll make the most out of your time in NY. Life is sweetest when it is most pregnant with possibilities, as yours is now.
I know you'll miss your family and friends, and they'll miss you too, but think - you'll be able to fall into each other's arms rapturously after a separation of months =)

So happy second anniversary, you two! =)
ps: I still haven't quite figured out what love is yet - there have been a few detours, and more than one misstep along the way, but, I hope I'll figure it out one day.

Dear Su Ann,
The relationship between father and daughter can sometimes be tenuous, and fragile, and fraught with the weight of so many things left unsaid.
And it's always, always the ones closest to you who possess the power to leave the deepest scar. Because, who better to plunge a knife into your heart, than the person you're clasping to it?
I can truly say I speak from experience, and yes, the sting of that initial rejection, that feeling of never being good enough, the constraint that comes from dealing in a love that comes with strings attached, never goes away. Thereafter every door slammed in your face and every no meted out to you, recalls that moment when you first realised that you'll never come first with that person whose approval you most crave.
But Su Ann, it's obvious that your father loves you so very much, and that his love is reciprocated. And that is why you are a more fortunate daughter that I'll ever be =)

I love how you went around and documented the minutiae in Martian's apartment - things that others might not notice, or, noticing, might not care enough about to pick up a camera and take a picture of.
I have to say, the apartment truly reflects the life you've built together - how sweet is that? It's the very first one you guys moved into as a couple right? Cos he was already renting the HK apartment as a bachelor - not that you didn't put your stamp on it though =)
But the FRIDGE, what is up the contents of THE FRIDGE? Who puts Doritos in the fridge anyways hahaha! I thought Martian was on that blood-type-thingy diet, so I completely expected the fridge to be crammed full of genotype - appropriate fresh produce (and not mooncake wtf). I stand corrected, yes? =D
ps: Yes, the bookcase is the bomb - try and bag it if you can! Maybe if you badgered Martian and printed out all these comments in support of your petition you might be able to erm, persuade him hahah =)
pps: Did Martian wring the giraffe's neck? 0__0 Soft toy abuse wtf.

Awww, babe *hugs*
OF COURSE you have the right to rant/ rave/ be emo. Just because you happen to blog, does that mean you do not feel too?
I understand that it's politic for you to be discreet or censor yourself for the sake of keeping the peace, but y'know, enough's enough.
If you can't say what you want to say (albeit in a veiled way, couched in the most general of terms ala 'Unsent Letters' - which btw happens to be my fave category of your whole blog), then what's the point of this entire exercise right?
I know that everyone has their ups and downs, and no one is exempted. Since it's your blog, should it not reflect the tapestry of your life too (albeit ina filtered way, as it should be).
The darned thing is, when you do choose to blog about the good things in life, the dinners shared with loved ones, the trips abroad spent exploring a city exciting and foreign, the meet-ups with bloggers, the lunches, the dress-up parties, THE FOOD (oh god, who can forget about the FOOD!) - some jerk crawls out of the woodwork and accuses you of being a fluffy hedonistic bimbo.
Heads you lose, tails you lose. So hon, since you can't keep everyone happy (trust you me, this state of utopia will never eventuate), screw it and do what you want.
So dear Su Ann, rant away - I'll try my very best to be here, (figuratively) holding your hand and putting in my two cents worth.
ps: I know I ask this every. single. time you write one of these milestone-type posts, but I cannot for the life of me remember when I started reading you. It's like I almost fear finding out, because time's slipped away so fast and I'm er, getting old wtf.
What I do remember though is getting hooked on quaintly.net shortly after The Star did a piece on you and Fireangel and Cheesie, voraciously reading my way though your archive, and then turning into a cyber-stalker, er, I mean became your loyal reader wtf =P

Su Ann, are you alright?
Like many of your other readers, I am bloody worried about #5 =(
Pills can be a temporary stop-gap, but because they're so habit-forming, it's not advisable to use them long-term.
I know you haven't had the greatest/ most stress-free time lately, so if I may be so bold as to suggest having a look at what's making it so hard for you to get a good night's sleep?
Sigh. I'm worried about you babe, please take care of yourself. You're very, very precious to very many people, so please, please treat yourself like the precious object you are to those who care about you.
