That would sort the incoming mail into year/month folders instead of your inbox, right? It would be useful if you had access to the server and could install a .procmailrc. I don't on at least one of my mail servers.

in emotionml on datn's blog comments
yes agreed. The difference is that a W3C specification is a document which goes along the Rec Track AND has been through all the steps toward Recommendations (it means implementations and public review).
An incubator group is a setup between a few companies/organizations which are member of W3C. They are working solo without any support of W3C employees (around 65). It's very short, usually one year. They decide to explore a topic, collect their practices and eventually make a report with it. It is what is emotionml document. It is not a new exploration. The people involved in this work have been doing that for a long time outside of W3C before. They are using the publishing and meeting infrastructure to acheive their work, like a club. :)
Hope it helps to understand.

This is democracy in its initial meaning. The thing is that democracy doesn't protect of anything, and it's why… Republics have been created.

in 2008/06/11/iphone-gps/ on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Geolocation is required in Japan by law on handsets for emergencies services since last year. Then all handsets have GPS. That was one of the reasons why iPhone could not access Japanese market.
Geolocation apps in Japan are very *common* for walking navigation for example.

in on competition on John's Blog
Competition is a philosophy of death. When you compete, there are winners and a lot more… loosers. Creating a society on accepting that there will be loosers –and that this is good– is a failure. Cooperation, working together is a lot more interesting.
On having choices, definitely agreed.

in Social Networks are Your Local Pub on Chris Brogan
The analogy stops right away with a very simple thing.
In Pubs, you do not record conversations. Those silly and serious moments are remembered, not archived and mostly forgotten. And it is why there is a possible social life.
When Mr Smith, who was quite drunk, and showed his dick in an unfortunate moment, there was no record of his dicks for years in the pub. Plus if the owner snapped a photo and puts it on his wall, he could ask to be removed without too much troubles. There was only one copy of it. And other pubs might have heard about it by "you know what gossips" which takes time to travel and is also forgotten.
Forgetting and slow sharing of information is an essential part of social life.

Hmmm.
backlight is a non-sense. The technology is e-ink, not LCD. A bit like saying my horse does not have wheels.
Anyway, the issues around ebooks are mostly
* DRM. Some earlier versions of Sony Ebook reader or the iRex had limited life for downloaded books and with some specific formats sometimes.
* Battery life is another issue. You want to be able to travel a long time with continuous use of the device.
* Search and Indexing of the content.
* Not tied to a specific shop
Electronic book is a misnomer in general. These devices are electronic libraries more than books.

I guess that if in your definition, you guarantee that truth is something variable in time and context, and that we can NOT know about all assertions.
