It just comes down to what type of society do you want to live in?  Social programs have been cut in half since 1973 and the govt still wants to cut more, such as social security to make themselves and their friends rich. Universal healthcare has been brought up since Kennedy.  They will never pass it.  There is no money in it for the govt, so why would they?
