in Being a Skinny Bitch is Overrated (Upon Reading a Manifesto Inspiring Body Hate) on Carrie and Danielle
i definitely agree with your opinion regarding the language and attitude conveyed in the book. I skimmed it through at the bookstore one night, trying to glean whatever tips i could in a few minutes, but was just appalled at the names and language they were using. Yeah, fine, i have implemented soy since then..but reading the book certainly didn't help me FEEL better about myself or my body...the negative, fire under your pants attitude may be helpful for motivation (and i admit i needed a bit of it) but generally speaking i learn from positive encouragement, not the other way around....thanks for your article...

in What expert help or advice would you like? on Carrie and Danielle
Hi Danielle,
The Canon Powershot G9 camera is a fantastic camera with manual & auto. functions...it takes outstanding photos and is 12 MP, allowing you resolution to blow up pics as big as you like. I just finished a photo program and my friend bought the G9. Her photos were equal to, if not better than our professional-grade fancy cameras. Its compact, unobtrusive, and cool black. The LCD screen is huge and it has most of the major functions of a pro camera. I'm excited about it because i just recommended it to my mom who can now OWN taking awesome photos! A link below:

in Photo Books: Made For You on Carrie and Danielle
Blurb.com is another very great, very price-conscious, and very creative website specifically for making photo books. I have been a fan since hearing about them a year ago. They're inexpensive and quick!

in What do you need to let go of? on Carrie and Danielle
I need to let go of certain creative decisions and time-consuming finishing touches on a film i am working on. I'm continually finding things to improve upon, much to the chagrin of the people around me. I need to understand that at some point, you can call something "done" although it can still "need tweaking" for years to come. Its taking up waaay too much mental space to make lists of things that technically i can't adjust, or that people working with me say cannot be changed at this point in time...I guess i need to let go of the "perfectionist" within me....
