This is typical of the thinking of many. I work for the federal government and white males wanted to have a white male month since there is Black History Month, Women's Month, etc.... The top executive (white female) decided to have a white male day-- of all things. Needless to say, that was stopped dead in it's tracks. This executive is still the top executive. I felt she should have been removed but she was sent to diversity training instead.This whole episode is still unbelievable
to me.

I am not saying he walks on water and I don't believe he is either weak or stupid. I always see the glass as half full rather than half empty. You have no proof that he was pandering as I have no proof that he was not. It is all a matter of belief and perspective. Some people have definitely stated they did not like him airing our so called dirty laundry in public. How would you have liked him to frame the conversation in only 30 minutes? It is a complicated issue
which could be discussed for hours.

Fox news does not have to make this up. It is a scientific fact that our community has 75% of children born out of wedlock. I don't see his speech as divisive or destructive.
Divisive or destructive to whom? Because Barack grew up without his father present, this issue is close to his heart. How hard is this to understand? I guess I will have to agree to disagree on this.

I TRULY, TRULY love being Black.
There is no other race I would choose to be. This means that I accept the good as well as the bad about Black people. I don't let the views of Whites or any others diminish my love of being Black. I do not need their acceptance, approval or validation.

Barack gave a speech which needed to be given. He was not pandering. The anger over this is completely unreasonable. As stated above, this is a crisis in our community and Barack is asking men to be MEN!

I believe girls and women also need

to be accountable. Everyone needs to GROW UP!

Black people have always been poor
while dealing with much more racist times than the present. Yet a generation ago, 75% of black children were not born out of wedlock. This cannot simply be blamed on the economy or racism. That is only a small portion of the problem.

If you read or listen to the entire speech he said this is a problem in America, not just black America, but ALL America. He was not pandering, it is his belief. It is the belief of most of us (AA). We know it is a problem. An entire generation of AAs
has been lost. You need to search within in order to discover the real reason this speech bothers you. Whether he gave the speech or not, all Americans see this problem and know the answers. This problem applies to white youth as well as black. It was the perfect speech for Father's Day and it was given in a respectful manner. He is trying to lift up the black youth

because he is black. Not voting for him would be a mistake. Surely

no other candidate understands or cares as much as he does.

I see it a bit differently. My problem was with the state taking it upon itself to prosecute a wealthy black man when no one had filed charges. It's the same old story where a wealthy black man is made an example of. I did not at all see it as a black female is valued less. Perhaps if she or her family had filed a complaint, I could view it that way. This will catch up with him eventually unless he is receiving treatment. That said, I do enjoy his music and I believe he is a musical genius.

telling Clinton supporters and ALL

blue collar workers that Obama is the candidate who is best suited to what

is needed by them. To do anything else means they lose!

The only change I would make to your statement is that RACE always trumps

gender. WHITE is actually the key.

They are hiding behind feminism and sexism but the fact that they are WHITE means they are entitled. We all deserve an apology but that will not be forthcoming any time in the near future.

You are making an assumption which is really not true. I disapprove of many of their policies, not only abroad, but in the US as well. They created policies which definitely did not benefit Black America but unfortunately many here in the US don't realize that. I was making a general statement as to why they lost the Black vote here. Most of the people on this blog already understand the Clinton's negative policies.

What the Clinton's failed to realize
is that they needed to treat the black base with white kid gloves just

as Obama treated Hillary and her supporters. Their failure to do this

has brought about her negative legacy.

I agree, too much talk on gender but
most of the women were ONLY voting on that basis. She actually did better than I expected. I did not care for the phrasing she used in asking everyone to support Obama. It could have been stronger. I liked the way she warned against voting Republican.

It was a very decent start!

I don't have really high expectations that she can pull this off given how strongly she actually wanted this. She resents Obama terribly. Her political future is in jeopardy so we'll see.

I see it a little differently.

Yes, they did start the race baiting before SC. I believe she had a near death experience after Iowa and panicked. When she made the statements about LBJ and MLK, she was making a crack on Obama's experience as a community activist and lack of experience to be POTUS. She & Bill just knew they had the Black Vote locked up. They had no idea we would react in the way we did. Same thing in SC. They appealed to the white vote, still thinking they had us in their pocket. They felt the only way they could beat him was to call out the racist white vote. With Rev Wright they tried to force Obama to leave his church and pastor because they knew Black people NEVER denounce their church. They thought Black anger over him denouncing his pastor would bring us back into the fold. After they realized we had left in large numbers they just went whole hog for the white vote, latino vote because they then had no other choice. Don't get me wrong, I am definitely not defending them. You don't play the race card unless racism is part of your belief system in the first place. It is almost impossible to beat someone who espouses a positive message without going negative. They not only underestimated Obama, they underestimated Black loyalty to them as well.

From my take it seems that the LGBT

community from HRC is moving over to Obama. Let them mourn. You don't have to go listen to the calls. We need every vote we can get. I don't see this as him pandering or being pushed around in this instance. His team I believe is just attempting to be compassionate.
