in all that is valuable on brip blap
Umm...Steve - in my reader there was a picture/advertisement for Dianetics. I'm pretty sure you're not an Elron Hubbard follower, but wanted you to be aware. And officially scared of your posts.

Steve @ bripblap @Carrie - nope, I'm not a Scientologist - and sorry you're scared of my posts!

in how to make millions, now on brip blap
I have taken on an ostrich-like quality lately - avoiding the news, taking value in what we have, looking on the bright side, etc. There is a lot of comfort in the simple things in life - valuing what we have that is immaterial. There is also a lot of comfort in history - nearly all recessions have rebounded within 6 months to a year - I'm hanging my hat on the fact that I have 30+ years to retirement, and I can wait this one out. (fingers crossed)

Steve, I agree with you wholeheartedly about the real change being in Congress. I wish people were more educated about how to influence change locallly. We can dream, right?

Steve, I love your blog and share many, if not all, of your political views. Today's post really touched me, and I wanted to say thank you for sharing your view and not being afraid to talk about potentially inflammatory subjects. I'm quite sure that you'll be a permanent fixture in my google reader.

Steve @ bripblap Thanks, Carrie, that means a lot to me. I always have thought that day we stop talking about inflammatory subjects is the day we aren't human anymore.

I feel your pain...I have a similar lifestyle and also have trouble finding ways to identify with my peers. Luckily, the PF community has a way of connecting the gaps.

Hopefully, it's only a matter of time before living frugally is mainstream.
