I agree, with the exception of the Indians. The whole point of a minor league team (besides growing talent for the MLB) is to provide a good value for families to attend, not to mention it gets kids excited about baseball. So, outside of adding the Indians, I am fine with it.

I think this will even it self back out (unfortunately) as people continue to commit petty crimes (their words, not mine) as far as stealing to have money. It will come back around.....

Dr. Meyers intrigues me as a candidate. Is there any reason NOT to think that he would have the fortitude and know how to do a good job? (I ask seriously.....)

I for one don't care what party someone aligns themselves with, as long as they have the their constituents best interest in mind. IE. Someone needs to expose the CIB/Mayors Office/CCC actions. If it takes stepping out of line, then so be it, just follow through.....the taxpayers deserve answers.

If they feel that way, THEN DON'T GO TO A SMOKING ESTABLISHMENT, it is after all....THEIR right. Don't tell me how to live my life! I don't smoke, but if I want to go somewhere where one can light up, I sure as hell am not going to bitch about it. IT WAS MY CHOICE. If they want to work there, by all means, tis THEIR choice too.

Unfortunately it is the "STATE" government, which means that its primary focus is NOT Indianapolis, but the STATE. Yes, IPS is beyond repair, no argument there. What Charter schools are there to speak of in areas such as Washington, Dekalb, Fountain Counties (ect., ect.)? Although the city of Indianapolis/County of Marion, feel that the STATE taxpayers should heal all of their wounds, this is not the way it should be working! People, Indianapolis is not what the STATE government should be governing (primarily, of course....)

Here's a novel idea: If you don't have the money to buy food, then you shouldn't have money to buy alcohol, tobacco, drugs, ect.

I know that there are truly needy folks out there (I work with them), but a lot of people utilize food banks to afford themselves other "luxuries". And while I am at it, what about the tax refunds? How many people filled out a tax return with little to no income (as they are making money through alternative avenues, ie drug dealers), but still receive the refund?

I don't like either option. But, McCain is certainly on redux. HOW many times can you bring up the same points, and focus on your history as a politician. I mean, how did we get where we are right now? 8 years of Bush politics.....

I agree about providing services, but (BUT!!) why would we* not want our tax dollars spent on a service that would also provide employment to our citizens who also pay taxes? Not to mention, how do you explain to someone 3,000 miles away that the stop light at 71st and Keystone is out? C'mon Abdul....

Isn't that the truth! My office is very close to 38th and Sherman, and I can't tell you how many times I have driven through that intersection. It is hard for one to fathom the permanency of other people's actions, don't you think?

Totally agree, but...where is the outrage for the 'common' citizen? A community goes up in arms when a LEA is struck by the violence that they are attempting to stop, but what about the neighbor, aunt, mom, son, daughter living their lives, that are taken by the criminal? Why does it take this for a response from a community? LEA's understand the risk of their duties; the retiree living his life, the women trying to start a new life, and a friend trying to have some dinner....WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE? Just saying....
