These kind of inexplicable delays are unacceptable and are indicative of the contempt for customer service that is endemic to SEPTA and its employees. Agreed, some delays are unavoidable - but the lack of explanation is what frustrates riders the most. SEPTA's biggest failures are not when something goes wrong - it's their inability to manage the expectations of their riders.

Probably around 80% of our weight is water, and it will be similar for other organisms and probably plants and trees too.

A dry tree's weight is almost entirely carbon - yes - mostly in cellulose.

A dry person's weight is almost entirely carbon too, but incorporated into proteins, fats and sugars. And yes that carbon comes entirely from the food we eat.

Yes, I see what you mean! After a quick search on the 3 Aus website it seems the UK does have the better tariffs and less caps.... But id still want your larger choice of phones!!! :-)

Heres a sneaky solution, if you have a friend who lives in the UK, then I suppose you could order a Phone with x-series from them and have it shipped to Aussie! That would mean you would avoid their stupid caps etc and as 3 have scrapped their romaing charges in their networked countries and you can use your free mins and texts in Australia: -

Interesting points, however you didnt mention that for all us Brits we have the massive choice of ONE handset to use on the x-series!!! So on that front you have us stuffed (looks jeleously at the Dopod B810 and LGU830)

Also, the prices dont seem that much higher than the UK, 30 dollars for the gold service is about £12, and it cost £10 for the 1GB capped service over here as well, although there does seem to be more restrictions on the Aus x-series if you go over 1GB (as far as I understand, its a "fair usuage" over here so you would just get warned and suspended if you went over 1GB)

Also, i dont think its very clear in your comments whether you can use x-series for the web, here in the UK all the ame stuff applies about using the applications etc, howvr you DONT have to use them! If you go onto the web you can surf on your phone as normal, but just with a 1GB cap, thats prob what makes the x-series so good over here :) IS that not the case in Aus?

On a similar note, I've also learned that strength comes in living the truth, authentically, and honestly. You are a person of strength and this shows in your writing. It seems that so often those that preach the "being tough" version of strength are really just denying the truth of their existence. There is no strength in that. It takes real strength to live the truth, no matter how painful, scandalizing, or disappointing our lived truth might be to others or to ourselves.

Cool, great and all fine. The only problem remains the Eclipse.org doesn't allow to ship LGPL-Code from their website.

Fixing this LGPL-"problem" area should get at the top list the Foundation has to solve because more and more projects are facing problems that they are not allowed to ship libraries from within their update-site because of this LGPL-Licensing issue.

Collaboration is one of the key strengths of OpenSource-Development so that we at Eclipse don't have to reinvent the wheel.

This is a really great news for me and my UFaceKit-Project because today I'm relying on QT-Jambi to get the Java-Binding to QT and because the widget-set I'm using is quite limited you your eSWT-Implementation probably already offers all I need.

Talking about E4 the current approach of translating CSS informations into SWT-API calls is not the right thing to do because then you are bound to the SWT common nominator approach. At UFaceKit I'm honoring the platform possibilities to for styling e.g. in case of QT I'm simply passing the stylesheet to the QWidget.

I must admit that I have never really agreed with WM deleting christian posts, and here is why I don't agree.

Others need to see what these christians are saying so they can also see how Non-believers are able to strike down their arguments.

Anytime WM deletes christian posts it makes the debates to appear one sided in my opinion. We need to be able to show and prove that the christian argument can be defeated.

Two points to keep in mind about Rock radio here and elsewhere: When GPM says that Rock 105 doesn't have as many commercials as 96Rock, that cuts both ways. The good part is obvious (fewer commercials), but the bad part is that those commercials are what keep a station on the air, playing the music you like. A good station without many commercials is NO guarantee that they won't be country/spanish/polka in 3 months' time.
The other point: several hundred people at a concert (or even a thousand at Disco Rodeo) don't constitute the kind of listenership most big FM stations need today to stay solvent. They're looking for tens of thousands of listeners, especially since there's well over a million people in the Raleigh-Durham radio market.
None of this means that a well-programmed modern/alt rock station here wouldn't do well, but you have to remember the economics of radio these days: they suck. The real culprit is the fact that big FM stations are really overpriced. Someone (Don Curtis, Clear Channel's stockholders) paid WAY too much some years back for radio stations that struggle to stay in the black today. The result? Everybody's too nervous about $$$ to really take a chance and innovate.

I want to destroy floppy disks. I happen not to use any at the moment. My uni has a place where I can print off Zip disk, and all the machines take Zip disk or CD-R so it's actually more convenient to stick stuff on Zip 100.

Floppy disks should have died in the 80's.

Yes, terpsichoros is right. It is when you try and release the software. Running it on your computer (or a host's computer) is not releasing software. Putting the source code up or inviting people to download the source or a binary (or any form of executable) releases it and you have to release the source GPL. It is to ensure that if you use the source code of a GPL product as the basis for another product, or you modify GPL software then you have to open-source your modifications. Otherwise, it would be possible to take a piece of GPL software and change it significantly then release it as closed source.

This has always been a peeve of mine as well. I mean, when I write email to dozens of people each week - I never use old school salutations like "Dear blah". To me, the "Dear" part already indicates that this person doesn't *really* know me. I think if you have a legitimate customer relationship, you should ditch the formal salutation and treat the customer as though you know them. "Tom," would be just fine. Of course this presumes, as you say, that their data is complete and wasn't improperly addended.

This post made me think of a few articles I read recently in QUEUE Magazine. It was from the April 2004 edition (I'm way behind in my reading), but it is a great article Why Writing Your Own Search Engine is Hard.

For as hard as the "simple" problems are to solve - in business, new competition can try to copy a businss model fairly easily - it usually just takes money. It still doesn't diminish the challenge.

Interesting. Another for the list? Many wineries know little about the additives, flavourings and so on that they chuck in the wine. My dad, who lives in Australia, is a big wine fan and was fortunate enough to meet the scientific director of a major Australian winery. Talking about a susceptibility to certain wines (they make him sick, and I suffer from this too), the wine science chap basically said that yes, there are plenty of people who get that sort of thing, that one day someone will be proven to have died from it and the industry will be hit by some sort of class action lawsuit and that frankly, they know very little about the stuff they add to the wine. A lot of the time they add it because it's on the recipe, but they have little understanding of how these ingredients react with each other or with the human who ends up consuming them.

One of my professors, Genevieve Atwood, was one of the co-chairs for this event and has a hand in its transformation with Mayor Becker. She whispered to me in class a few days ago that she's pretty sure it's going to the bicyclists. Or at least the Collective. I'm so happy to hear about this.

I got pulled over today while working of all things!! The officers in the squad car thought it necessary to pull me over by swerving in front of me, firing their air sirens and yelling out the window for me to "Get off the damn bike, now!" As for any repurcussions, I told them I was from Idaho (where I knew it wasn't mandatory for bicyclists to stop at red lights). So, if you're thinking of zooming through that next red light downtown, just make sure you don't hand over your license and say you're from some ambiguous state where the bicycle code is a tad laxed from Utah's. Cheers!!

First of all, no one here is trying to claim superiority for being christian. Not a single christian (as far as I know) has responded to your posts.

How are these two statements any different:

At any rate, you're still blaming innocents. In the same way that not every white and black person is responsible for the deaths of indians, not every Christian is responsible for that attitude. I agree that any religion (organized or not) is a lapse in intelligence, and that that lapse in intelligence can be potentially deadly. But it isn't always. There are many Christians who are genuinely good people and would never dream of proclaiming themselves better than others by the fact of their Christianity. There are both extremes here and in the States, although people prefer to see only the self-righteous Christians in America and only the good Christians in Canada. We're both a mix of good and bad. Canada's not as great as it's made out to be.
All sorts of cultures have been wiped out in the past. It's time to just accept it and move on.
Remember that YOU are the one claiming that certain human beings are worse or less deserving than others for the actions of their ancestors. YOU were the one trying to make a distinction between human beings--those who should be here and those who shouldn't. 1. When wearing shorts, only white ankle length socks are acceptable. Sorry, calf length monstrosities look ridiculous even when they're claimed to be 'compression socks'. Just don't do it.
2. Should you find yourself 10 kgs overweight, lose it on the road, on the turbo, or in the gym before making for the start line please. You're taking someone else's place. Note for this year's Etape du Tour riders.
3. If you suspect a chainring tattoo on your calf (cardinal sin), stop, check, and wipe it off with a mitt. Better oil on your mitt than on your calf.
4. The key word in 'group ride' is the first one. Unless you have established some ground rules for this with your group, keep racing for races.
5. If you don't want to shave your legs, stick to golf.
6. You will puncture. So know how to fix one. And carry a pump.

This is true. It sometimes will go as far as Mr W says, but most times it basically comes down to maintaining good relations in the racing community. If you get a reputation for sitting on and rolling guys in a sprint, it'll work against you in the long run. Hard work earns respect and eventually allies when you need them most.

Agreed. The temptation for these "once in a while" types of events is to train hard for them and then do a big shopping trip the day before at the bike shop/food store. You then load up with a bunch of unfamiliar energy bars and gels on race day that may not agree with you.

The proper nutrition may not propel you to winning the race, but bad nutrition can sure as hell can make you DNF. I wish I had known a little bit about nutrition 20yrs ago. It's just as important as proper training. I think CT's advice to you is sensible and something everyone can do without too much thought. There are no miracle foods or supplements so best not to spend too much time looking for them (none that are legal anyway)

If you're guilty of going ahead of your partner etc. (which I find nigh-on impossible not to - seriously), then DO ride a slower bike (e.g., a heavy townie with fat under-inflated tyres) when she's on her roadie. DO ensure that the chain drops at least once every 10 km, the gears slip on inclines >3% and that it handles so poorly you have to slow to <10km/hr to take even the slightest bend.

Comment: Excellent first race tips. I was also nevous as hell my first
race (last weekend actually). Many questions at the starting line I asked
myself. "Did I stretch enough? Am I warmed up enough? Am I ready for
this level of riding? WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING HERE? AM I CRAZY?" But it
was amazing when that gun went off. We had a nuetral rollout for 1-1/2
miles. Then BAM!! we were off. 25MPH surrounded by 40 other guys. 5
miles out the group pace slowed and I got pushed outside and found myself
pulling an entire group of 40. I was way out of comfort zone. Then 2 guys
came up and I grabbed thier wheels and I found myself in a 3 man breakaway
in the first 10 miles. Then the 11% climb came. I got dropped and was
alone until the last 7 miles back in. I grabbed the wheels of a 3 man
group. We shared the work with short pulls all the way to the 1/2 mile
climb to the finish. I heard a team mate yelling GO GO SPRINT. It was
another guy and me sprinting for 10th place. I grabbed his wheel, shifted
2 gears, saw the finish line and went 200% for 10th place. Even as I write
this I still get chills on this amazing experience, and now I've got the
race bug and look forward to the remainder of the race season. At the end,
I was 10th place overall and 1st place in the 30-39 year old age group. My
advice to newbies, use the nerves and adrenaline to your advantage and
DON'T EVER THROW IN THE TOWEL NO MATTER HOW BAD OR HOPELESS YOUR YOU FEEL. Just use that 1st race experience as mark for your following week's training for the next race.

Does anyone know where I can get good information on DNS.
I am running a windows server 2003 with many domains on it.
I will be running mail, web and web mail services.
I will have a single ip address until I can get a second server up
and running .My ISP is hosting my DNS Pointing from my registrar
backup MX Mail.domain www.domain ftp.domain, & .domain

The kind of information I am looking for is like this.(I have searched everywhere)

For each domain I have I have these records (do I need a record for the name of the computer as well and should that record have mail ns and everything else listed below.

FORWARD LOOKUP ZONES.

Start of Authority (SOA) Domain,hostmaster < should the domain be the name of the computer? since the computer has a .local host name. like IBM.LOCAL

Name server. (NS) < should this point to the name of the computer, or the primary domain on the server like IBM.COM not the .LOCAL

Mail Host (A) < my path is mail.myprimarydomain.XX
mail Mail Exchanger (MX) <my setting is [10] mail.myprimarydomain.XX
Mail works great. however when i do the DNS Report I could get better results.

computername Host (A) 192.168.0.200 <local ip address (should all my address point to the local or to the main ip since i only have 1 ip. If I choose not to use the local address do I even need to have the computer name listed in DNS

www Host (A) 192.168.0.200 < I have seen this change to .0.0
losing the .200 (im using headers for my web and my ftp and web work fine)

REVERSE LOOKUP ZONES

(same as parent folder) Start of Authority(SOA computername.computername.,hostmaster.computername
(same as parent folder) Name Server (NS) computername.computername.

i also have one for eachdomain with the path. domain.computername.
Is this all i need in reverse and what can i do to clean up my DNS. if someone knows where I can get help that would be great.

Hasn't helped me. I don't have Mpegport.sys on my new MESH Matrix system, but I can't install SP2 - after installing SP2 and rebooting, it only restarts in safe mode and I'm forced to uninstall to get working again.

Happened to me too. Napster said there was a software update today.

Virtuosa will no longer convert. Stays at 0%.

Tried re-installing V. but no difference.

Might try & uninstall Napster, but doubt that will fix anything.

I tried Installing the old version of Virtuosa on a computer that never had Napster installed. Pulled files from over network, still won't work.

I just watched this video, well it looks like somebody managed to create a robot that pours beer into mug from a standard sized can...badly. What if you are drinking from bottles, using a different sized can/mug/glass, also having watched a video the beer comes with waaaay too much head on to be enjoyable. Plus you could pour your own in less time AND save money.

If any of you have noticed, the concept looks less contoured, and so it doensnt look as god as the current version. also, they've just ruined the lines yet again by sticking a spoiler on the back (its a DIESEL for christs sake!) and changing the body kit so its streched lower down. Its hard to notice but when you have a picture of the current R8 this thing looks more pushed together. and why choose a diesel? they could have just done what koeniggsegg did and use an eco friendly fuel mix that boosts the power by tonnes of horse power? i think this is a bit of a dissapointment and its jus trying to say diesel cars rule.

Machine malfunction? What are the chances that one of the 18 machines malfunctioned? My wife works the polls in Story County nearly every election, and they have never malfunctioned. These are the same machines that were used today. No way that the machine with the most votes (1800 votes, more than 12% of the votes on one machine out of 18) is the very one that didn't work.

Less than 15,000 voters! It looks like they had a much poorer turnout than expected. I drove by the straw poll 4 times today, and I could not believe how little activity was there. It looked like much, much less than at an ISU football game, and even less than a well-attended basketball game. Really a pathetic turnout - less than half what the RPI predicted (30-40,000). Bush had over 7000 votes in 1999.

I wonder how the RPI is going to make up for the $700,000 shortfall?

And what an embarrassment!

But what is the party's excuse? The poor turnout is a very poor reflection on the RPI and the field of presidential candidates. They couldn't come close to the 1999 turnout. I think this really reflects poorly on the Republican Party, and now they have to scramble to raise money to pay for their caucus. I figure they are at least $700,000 short of what they were expecting.

The vote count wasn't right The 2+ hours that it took to count the votes from 18 optical scan machines was not right. My wife has worked those machines in Story County before, and they do not malfunction.

Clinton has not signed Obama, Edwards, Richardson, Biden and Dodd have signed on. I think Hillary is thinking about pulling out of Iowa again, because if she does not sign on, she is looking at a third or fourth place finish here, or worse. Then her inevitability is gone. Even if Clinton signs the pledge late, she has lost some of her credibility in Iowa.

If Michigan, Florida and Clinton persist, that would leave Michigan and Florida uncontested. If the DNC sticks to its guns, then those states are without delegates. Florida and Michigan would be shallow victories, and would the press be interested? The Michigan and Florida contests would just be straw polls with only a single candidate.

and slow but steady leak of supporters, including county and precinct chairs, leads me to think that Edwards will finish second or third. I hope it is second, but he would have to stop the slow bleed quick, and I am not sure how he could do it.

Is Edwards' field organization really that strong? He seems to have less going on than Obama and Clinton around here, though Clinton is lacking in grassroots effort.

Richardson is the other one that is decelerating.

Aside from Edwards slipping one or two places, I agree with your assessment.

Clinton 4th District Deal I had not heard the stipulation that the Edwards national delegate from the 4th District would have to have been someone from the Clinton preference group. If that is true, it was a pretty shallow offer.

But is it true? There would have to be an election by the preference group, and Edwards delegates would far outnumber the Clinton delegates. What would prevent them from electing one of their own?

I doubt there were strings attached My question was whether there really were any strings attached to the deal. As far as I know the Clinton delegation offered to give delegates to the Edwards group in order to make them viable (which would pull a national delegate spot from Obama). The Obama group made a different offer. The Edwards people rejected the Clinton offer and went as a group to Obama (in total, 42 Edwards/Uncommitted to Obama, 12 to Clinton).

If the Edwards group accepted the offer and stayed viable, they could elect anyone they wanted to the national delegate spot. I am sure the Clinton people understood that, too.

I think the real story here is that 1) the Edwards delegates were more interested in joining up with the Obama group than stay viable with the help of the Clinton delegates, and 2) that more than 3/4ths of the Edwards/Uncommitted people went to Obama.

Bruce Braley and Richard Michacek seemed to show the same inclination, perhaps understanding the leaning of their fellow Edwards supporters and other constituents.

Thanks for running. I look forward to having you as my Senator, following in Paul Wellstone's footsteps. I know you are passionate about people, especially our troops, as a Senate candidate should be.

In addition to the issues you've mentioned, I care about making sure we have free and fair elections in our country. We need to make sure that voters are able to submit paper ballots which are then counted. Please make sure no separate paper trail is used. For the disabled, I recommend the use of a voting machine which then prints out a paper ballot.

If you could also push for Instant Runoff Voting, this would be a great benefit for all voters and eliminate the spoiler factor of third party candidates.

Even if Iran gets the technology of producing nuclear weapons hypothetically, Are they foolish to use it against any country? at most Iran can build 5 with their amount of Uranium but compare it with all other countries in the world. Officials admitted that they have lost money and explosives in Iraq and on the other hand other countries such as Suadia Arabia has mentioned that they will support Sunni minorities in Iraq up to 10 billion dollars. Most of these explosions are in Shi'e Parts which might have sympathy with Iran. there are hundreds of facts that if you put together you will conclude that there is a hidden reason behind all these pushing of war against Iran.

I\'m 18 (not a father yet thankfully) I was 7 when the Port Arthur and Dunblain massacares happened in Ireland and Tasmania, Australia (I live in Tasmania) My mother decided that it was a good idea not to let us (Myself and my 9 year old brother) play with toy guns anymore. It didn\'t work though. Essentially it came down to boys being boys, accompanied by the fact that we had been shooting real guns (air rifle) since we were 5 or so, and our father owns a fairly large collection.

As long as your kids know the difference between a toy and a real gun, and all firearms are KEPT SAFE IE Bolt removed/ magazines and ammo stored in seperate locking container with a DIFFERENT key, then the risk of accidents are greatly minimised. I do of course realise that gun crime in the USA is alot more rampant than here in Australia, but I do not believe not letting your kids play with guns is a good thing. Ween them off toys onto the real thing, teaching them about safety and ethical hunting, soon they will loose interest in toys and grow into responsible shooters such as I am today.

Rev. Wallis, A little off topic here but re the King Show last night, I thought you made another excellent appearance. I personally thought Barry Lynn stood out among all of you, however. You didn t directly respond to his most insightful comment: LYNN: people don't want their politicians acting like they're resolving these issues on the basis even of the Holy Scripture, which 80 percent of Americans claim is their holy scripture. They want reason, God given or otherwise, to play a role in deciding the most contentious issues of our time. You gave an evasive respone here, Jim, and that s surprising since you ve visited so many different places around the country.
Lynn was once again right on target in reasserting the importance of this issue when he talked about Edwards addressing the moral leader question at the Democratic debates: LYNN: I think it's reasonable for someone to ponder, as John Edwards did, and to say this is why the lord means something to me, but, also, be clear, as John Edwards frequently is, that he knows that his personal religious beliefs cannot trump the values of the constitution, cannot trump the commonly shared values that all of us have as Americans. When he speaks personally, he says I'm speaking personally.

I think Lynn makes a great point about the kind of person of faith voters want to see. There s a clear difference between Obama and Edwards, for instance. Edwards lets his authenticity flow more naturally whereas Obama s authenticity is enhanced by his vibrant and engaging presence. Obama articulates his faith very well, but he maintains a tough posterior sometimes almost too business like. He often conjoins a new moral vision with metaphors and analogies about past spiritual social movements. He s very good at this and that s what I like about him. He s like a rock star they say. This doesn t necessarily mean he s endeared himself to the public. It means he s got a powerful image and speaks sternly about his convictions, which is very admirable. And let me say I definitely believe we need this kind of leadership in our next president. But, in my opinion, voters are drawn to more than enthusiasm. They can learn various history lessons and identify with whichever spiritual movement they wish, along the way. My point is that we ought not forget what ultimately ingratiates a candidate to the voters, which brings me to Edwards. Edwards is quickly appearing more wholesome than any other candidate, in the eyes of the public. There s a sense of openness and vulnerability about Edwards and it s clear that he wants to take all of us along with him in a kind of shared spiritual awakening. My question to you is: even though we re going through a social paradigm shift in society, isn t it more important for the public to experience this change organically, together, with the example someone like Edwards is setting? I agree that we should draw on past examples such as the Civil Right s Movement to help guide our moral compasses today. But the touch of spontaneous sincerity in Edwards is something I don t think Obama has yet to hone in on. And this is ultimately what I believe voters will connect with and be inspired by.

That is a great way to express things and what a perfect picture.

The thing I think about a fair amount is that teachers need to be producers as well and manage their own brands. I see too many who are passing on the content created by book companies without making it their own or making it relevant to their own students. I see students producing no matter what but if teachers are going to participate and manage students then they are going to need to know what they are doing, most likely through personal experience.

It's also neat to think about how education would change if students had the option to choose their teachers from a selection competing for them- not necessarily the free competition between public and private schools but more from teachers across the world no matter their employer.

Oui mais perso je pense que ça sera 399€ pour le modéle d'entrée de gamme du EEE PC900 c'est à dire celui de 4 Go(contre 2 à 8 Go pour les premiers Eee PC). De plus je pense qu'il sortira pas avant septembre 08 avec une offre qui sera superieur à la demande donc...

Par contre à mon avis son gros déault sera la batterie(son autonomie) car elle sera forcément plus faible ...

ce n'est plus du low-cost à 399 € et c'est scandaleux quand ont sait qu'ils ont augmenté les prix pour payer microsoft.

J'ai un peu de mal à croire que le Eee 900 sorte d'abord en France puis à Taiwan. Mais si c'est le cas tant mieux, moi qui hésite actuellement à acheter un Eee 700 je sauteraiS immédiatement sur l'occasion.

Note IANAL(Y) (I am Not A Lisper{yet)) but, download "On Lisp" (http://www.paulgraham.com/onlisp.html) to find out why Lisp is so very cool and then get hold of "Practical Common Lisp" (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1590592395) to help actually learn it.

Then we can compare notes like the happy geeks (or geek wannabe in my case).
