in One of the best pep talk on Aronil
Dad is still the only guy around who can bring me to tears.
His wrinkles, his distinctive greys from the blacks on his head, reminds me of the struggles and heartaches involved in my upbringing.
Thank God that He remembers that we are made of dust...and given us our earthly fathers.

in The book that rules all books…THE LORD OF THE RINGS! on Aronil
Alamak! Integration of cross-sultural or rather cross-kingdom characters.
Let Aragorn be Aragorn and Guan Yu be Guan Yu!:)
I don't think I will ever be able to pick up Silmarillon, though it is very fascinating how the concept of a Creator God is entertwined in fantasy and reality. What a bag of goodies!

in Science versus philosophy on Aronil
Philosophy is definitely not irrational. Paul was a great philosopher, so to speak; and Jesus was even greater. Rather than contradicting science, philosophy goes hand-in-hand with it.Both requires the faculty of Reason, just that science is measured and quantified with empirical methods and philosophy, with logic and ideas. Perhaps, what makes philosophy seems merely theoretical is because the weightage of its worth cannot be measured by quantifiable benchmarks. Not everything needs to be proven mathematically or scientifically for its worth to be known. Perhaps, just perhaps; there is no such thing as science vs philosophy after all; rather; science vs bad philosophy. Then we can start debating on its irrationality.

in To Be Silent on Aronil
I have learnt to be silent, too. Which is not a bad thing, actually. Upon reading a quote by S.D Gordon in Quiet Talks on Prayer, my appreciation for silence and quietness grows even more.
Steadfastness, that is holding on;
patience, that is holding back;
expectancy, that is holding the face up;
obedience, that is holding one's self in readiness to go or do;
listening, that is holding quiet and still so as to hear.
Quiet stars of quiet nights...:)

in On a lighter note, for the coming of the "New Year"..Chinese style! on Aronil
Today is a sad, sad day. Owing to total depravity, 'Stephanie' has fallen into the trap of the devil in disguise. Alas, tis is the time when only the Arminians will pray hard for him; for the Calvinists say "No worries, the perseverence of the saints shall be done!" and so have declined to their hometowns to celebrate Chinese New Year. Poor, poor 'Stephanie'. :)

in Branches of Choice….part 1 on Aronil
Wow, wow...indeed C S Lewis remains a gem in the world of English literature. His ideas on Christianity in another book though called Mere Christianity, is anything but 'mere'. In fact, I have to give this book its due credit for bestowing upon me more than just a glimpse of Truth and rekindle my passion for reading, otherwise would have remained dead til now. C S Lewis' literary works depict the proverb "The pen is mightier than the sword" in a most apt manner.Have an insightful literary journey!

in no ponders for the next few days on Aronil
Dear Aronil, at this point, you must've have first-hand knowledge on how pain, anxiety, worry and fear can be so real, even in journey of faith with our wonderful God and Saviour. Let us continue to bring cheer to our loved ones as they run the race of endurance, for we know we are never running alone and sometimes, not even running at all, for our God and Saviour would carry us through in times if distress and relief. What great comfort to know that we can cast all our fears upon Him! All glory be unto our Lord.
