Not that TMZ is that reliable or anything, but apparently it's a hoax?

Glenda You know what? It sounds like it was pieced together to me. But it's still hilarious. After I posted this, I realized that there are parts in the actual audio file that aren't to the same audio levels (listen to the varying degrees of background noise versus the primary vocal) -- I ran it through Logic and you can see it.

What're you doing looking at TMZ? That stuff is gonna rot your brain. :)

I'm afraid I have seen a Nicole Lee specimen that has also cried during Phenomenon. But said specimen can indeed iron a shirt, so there's no fear of duplicity there.

I was about to say your glucose levels are quite high, but I noticed you didn't fast, so that's not really accurate.

in Self-Proclaimed “Gaysian” a Contestant on Beauty and the Geek on 8Asians.com
There was this one episode of MTV's Parental Control where the parents were Asian, and they were trying to get their female Asian ice-skating protege to get a new boyfriend. The father wanted her to date an Asian male, and the guy he chose was the absolute opposite of the asexual nerd stereotype. Buff Asian male hottie, in other words. The whole show was cheesy as hell and totally disgusting, but it was still interesting to watch in the guilty pleasure kind of way (For one thing, I'm shocked how the Asian parents were completely accepting of the idea that their daughter has had sex in public(!)).

PS. I swear I don't watch MTV that often and was just supremely bored that evening.

Not to mention it's giving a ton of press to Gizmodo right now.

Heck, I hear that she has a boyfriend in real life (Rumors only tho). Frankly, I think that whole show is entirely scripted... she speaks in such a monotone, like she\'s reading off a teleprompter. I\'ve only watched a couple of episodes though.

in What About Asians in the Empirical Analysis of Acting White? on 8Asians.com
The funny thing is, I think quite a large number of "FOBs" and/or diasporic Asians are actually incredibly fluent in English, with decent grades to boot. Does that mean they were acting white even when they were back home in their Asian majority countries?

This reminds me of when people used to act so surprised when I tell them I'm not American...

The problem with calling an entire race "honorable" and "proud" is that it somehow implies that other races are not as honorable or proud. Whatever happened to being "honored" and "proud" of HUMANKIND? Oh wait, we're a bunch of jerks. Never mind.

in The Foodwise Effects of the West in Asia on 8Asians.com
While I believe that the foods of the West have made some negative impact in Asia, I honestly don't know if the impact was ever really that big. Most Asians still have a horribly distorted belief that girls should be skinny as a rail. A girl's size Small in the U.S. would probably be a size Large or Xtra Large in Singapore. A woman with a completely normal BMI in the U.S. would be considered fat in a lot of East Asian countries. The stigma is huge, and I don't really see it going away any time soon.

I understand what you're talking about with size portions in the U.S. and fast food and so forth, but I don't think obesity is as big a problem in Asia as the unrealistic expectations of beauty.

Yeah, I've received a jury summons letter too, and had to check the "not a US citizen" box. So yes, they ARE incapable of knowing the age, citizenship, and criminal record of the people they send jury summons to. Kinda scary.
