I was tempted to see it but it's not even available in English here. It's only in French and I don't like translated versions. Then again, Transformer was not available in English last year. That one was weird. We get more English movies now.

Anyway, it means that the distributor don't think it will make money in English here. I wonder if I can track movie performance this way now ;)

Get the 40GB version of the PS3 like I did. It's silent too. You will save $50. But you will need the remote($25 at Walmart for the true PS3 remote not the fake at $20) unless you don't mind using the controller.

A part from the game, it starting to be a good multimedia machine(DivX, Xvid, WMV, MP3...). Sony talk about a 10 year life cycle for it. Yes, a PS4-5 will exist by then. But jr will be able to play games and they will be cheaper too.
Half-Life 2 in the $5 bin ;)

I general, I'm against remakes. But in this case(Sci-Fi), I don't mind at all because the technology is now better than the cheesy special effects of the show. And with BG being a successful remake, V can also be good if they make it darker like BG.

I remember when Diana(alien scientist) would swallow a live rat. That got a lot of publicity for the mini-series back then. And yes, human were on the menu too. ;)

Yes, some part are boring and I don't like the camera work but I like the overall theme of the show. I'm not even a football follower. That's saying a lot. :)

I'm Canadian so I will have to wait for 2009 on NBC to watch it.

Jason: That's the kind of quality show that should get a better time slot/day. When they start in January on NBC, it may help them because the high school season will be over.

One season may suck but could come back stronger the next season. For example, in Enterprise, the Xindi story arch was too long for most fans. The writers learned from that and decided to make shorter story arch in Season 4.The same thing with Veronica Mars. My point is that they adapted to fans. The last few Enterprise episodes were great(darker side angle).

I'm not ready to throw the towel yet. Let's see how they do.

Jason, you have the right not to like Prison Break. I'm like Mike and I still like the show. One's person crap is another person's favorite show.

Now, I agree with you that many show are crap because they don't offer much like a drama/sci-fi. Think of all the reality shows available or game shows now available. I only watch 1 reality show because it last about 8-9 episodes. Deal or no deal, I can watch 5 minutes/month but for most of them, I don't watch them. I could do without Survivor.

For regular shows, I like NCIS but don't watch the 8 versions of CSI.

I also agree that many are canceled way too fast or put in the wrong time slot or night. Why can't they just use Saturday like they used to do? "The Commish" had 5 seasons(?) there. I would watch if new scripted show were there. For now, I don't watch nothing from the major networks because nothing for me to watch.

But bring back Journeyman! ;)

Those will be obsolete for the "new" features only. They can still play a Blu-Ray movies with no problem and that's what most people do: only watch the movie. When was the last time you heard someone say: "Did you see to the live commentary, it was funny". Btw, that's already in profile 1.1. Only die hard fans watch them.

Anyway, I expected them to stay the same price. Are they keeping the price high so that people don't say: "I would had waited if I had known about profile 2.0". For now, the PS3 is still the best choice to get a future profile 2.0 player. And it can play games ;)

There is difference between downloading subquality HD movie versus a better quality Blu-Ray movie(higher bit rate). Sure, downloading is the future but very far down the road. It will only play catch up with the physical media.

I would expect that Toshiba could make those hybrid seeing they don't pay for license. But you will still pay more than a Blu-Ray play if they do that.

Btw, I saw a LG(model 200) for $500 on the Canadian shopping channel last weekend.

Lord of the ring is a great example. Yes, it had sequels but they were worth it. The same goes with Narnia even if it's more for children than Lord.

Video games don't worked well. Someday, they may find a good formula. Btw, I never played Hitman but did like the movie(action) and I left my brain at the door ;)

Was it Micheal Bay that said the theater release was to sell the DVD? He should try a direct to DVD(unrated) to see how much money he would sell/rent. I would rent it but I won't pay $8-12 to see it at the theater.

I agree with you that it's getting ridiculous with all those remakes. I wrote a post on my movie blog last year that Hollywood was lacking imagination. Guest what? Nothing has change.

Direct to DVD or Blu-Ray, that I would not mind much. It's the lack of original movies I can see at the theater.

Of course, we are part of the problem when do see them. ;) I'm lucky in a sense because English movies are rare in Quebec City since last year.

When I saw Number 23, I was expecting Jim to make a face or something very funny. That's my main problem when an actor is too type cast and tries a very different type of roles.

The advantage of being older is that I don't look for the rating.;) So, it was news to me that it was R. I do think it's the R rating that did it for this movies. Like many, I did not see it and was planning it maybe next week by seeing 10,000BC at the same time.


I agree with others that Will should branch out more like Jim Carrey did (Number 23).But it may take some time for us to get used to that from any comedian.

Too many projects and it'S maybe because of the upcoming negotiation with the Actor's Guild.

But yesterday, Star Trek (TOS) Season 2 HD-DVD was also delayed to this summer . Maybe they want to jump back into Blu-Ray.

If the actors goes on strike, they start to release more movies in BD to at least make some money back during it. ;)
