I'm writing this comment on one of those netbooks right now.. I was leant one for the weekend from a friend after leaving my normal (massive) laptop's power cable in the office.
I'm in love with it.. but I have to give it back tomorrow.
Fingers crossed I might win one in a compeition soon!

@James Whatley, thanks... if i only knew about the spinvox + ping.fm integration back then... it would have been quicker by calling it in instead of typing!

in Why I love TweetDeck - Paul Walsh, the Irish Opportunist on Paul Walsh, the Irish Opportunist
Well, not being an iPhone user I couldn't comment on that. But, being a Mobile Web App, I doubt very much that dabr has that content creation functionality...
...However, on a content *consumption* side of things, dabr does automatically show any pictures that are linked to - ie: Flickr/Twitpic links etc...
Additionally, I'd say take another look as @DavidCarrington, the creator, did a lot of work over the weekend tidying the whole thing up.
I always recommend it to those who are still using http://m.twitter.com - iPhone apps are a different class.

in Why I love TweetDeck - Paul Walsh, the Irish Opportunist on Paul Walsh, the Irish Opportunist
I'm a recent Tweetdeck convert after having been a Twhirl user for sometime now... I *LOVE* how much data I can consume in one go..
It really, really helps with my day to day job as well as with my personal non-work relationships.
Can't believe it took me so long to make the switch..
Incidentaly, I know you're an iPhone user so you probably have an app that does Twitter for you already. But, being the Mobile Geek that I am, I couldn't possible comment without pointing out the quite frankly awesome http://dabr.co.uk which is v new and has recently usurped http://slandr.net in it's usefulness.
Check it out if you get a chance Sir,
J.

Gutted I missed it and also, by the looks of things, I'm going to miss the next one too.

Psst... It's 'Whatley'

And I've passed your comments about disqus back to the Ewan Macleod, the guy who runs SMS Text News.
Good viewpoint re: Nominating the evangelists. To be honest I think that's how I became one in my last job at Refresh Mobile.
Makes sense.

in As good a presentation on Social Media as I have seen on Blending the mix
I've just spent the day at Media Camp London discussing, amongst other things, varying interpretations of Social Media.
This is awesome Paul. Thanks for sharing.

Good response.
I for one look forward to the improvements you mentioned. The LG Secret actual build quality is awesome. It's a lovely device to physically hold.
Get the innards sorted and I you may have a future customer right here...

HSDPA & Bluetooth don't enable sending photos/videos to my facebook/flickr though, right?
Don't get me wrong, it is a really nice device.
But for such a forward thinking company I thought you would've opened it up a bit y'know?
You guys *know* what I'm talking about...

Dude, I got one of these at the blogger launch... It's a nice gimmick but it doesn't hide the lack of overall connectivity/sharing options available on the handset.

DAMN!
Got me too.... Although I must say I am both SHOCKED and APPALLED at Robbie D's 'singing' ability.
I can see a Karaoke showdown in the near future...
Are you listening WOM World? Next London Meet.
