in Monetizing with social media, a tricky domain on Daily Axioms
Great post guys- I think that social media advertising will be a lot different than just clicking on a banner and taking someone to their website. Ads will be more interactive engaging the audience with contests (on Twitter with the advertisers user name). This interaction is what will drive up brand loyalty, in turn making ads produce better than they do on sites like Facebook.
Cheers

in Twittad - The less invasive way to monetize from Twitter on The Busy Brain
As the Founder of Twittad, I hope your profile sells for $1,000,000 :)
After launching in August, we have grown the site to over 1,600 users and continue to see some good results from advertisers. Our recent Case Study can be viewed here.

The guys at Twellow are great- this is a great add-on to their site. They helped us grab the categories from their API to put Twitter users into a demographic on Twittad.
Very well done Twellow-

in Why Twittad Is A Scam And Its Vanity Counterpart May Be A Better Business on tinycomb
Jason,
Glad I found your site, you have some very good articles.
We have rolled out a lot more on Twittad.com than just our site www.whatsyourtweetworth.com.
This includes working with Twellow.com by grabbing their categories and placing Twitter users into those categories on Twittad. What this will do is allow advertisers to directly target specific demographics.
We are certainly not a scam, we are simply giving users the ability (if they choose) to make money on Twitter.

in Make Money From Your Twitter Account on Jacob Morgan on Social Media, Technology, Marketing, and Life
Jacob,
Thanks for the write up on Twittad. We are in the process of building a grader system similar to Twitter Grader that will give Twitter users some idea of what amount to put up for their profile. Keep an eye on our blog for more details, but it should be ready in a week. http://twittad.blogspot.com/
We are also working with the great people at www.twellow.com to grab categories for each Twittad user. Then advertisers can find people via category (demographic). Advertisers can already find Twittad users by location, but adding this demographic peice will be nice.

in Twittad - Make Money with Twitter on Rumbling Lankan
Thanks for the post about Twittad. You bring up a very good point about how we dont know how many people visit the actual page of the Twitter users.
When you send a DM (Direct Message) through Twitter you also see the background image of the person you are sending the message to. So that is one more spot for the advertisers to get an "eye-ball"
As Twitter evolves is it my belief that they will build a community where the users profile pages will become more interactive. Adding applications, more links for users to post, etc. If this happens, and we are able to get the traffic stats for individual profile pages then we might have a good advertising network.
We are working to update many things on this first version of Twittad.com. Including the ability to give advertisers a demographic of Twitter users that are selling on Twittad.

in TwittAd launches ad marketplace for Twitter pages that no one sees on VentureBeat
Svetlana,
We are working on finding your email account in the database, I just sent you a message on Twitter if you could follow up on that we can get the confirmation email sent.
Also, when someone clicks on a user to send a Direct Message through Twitter, they see the ad background of the person they are sending the message to. So the ad background is being shown on more than just the front profile page.

in TwittAd launches ad marketplace for Twitter pages that no one sees on VentureBeat
Point well taken, however there are a lot of site stats that we..meaning the general public, dont have access to. Your point is dead on though, just how many people view the profile pages? Well today Twittad has had 25 new followers...and I went to every single one of their profile pages and checked out everyones blog links. Am I along on this? Maybe.
However, lets think of Twitter on a much larger scale. Imagine more spruced up profile pages, allowing users to actually link more than 2-3 web addresses, pictures and other applications. If Twitter produces that model, site views and the amount of time users spend on the Twitter website will go up. And so will advertising prices.
We are working on increasing the scope of Twittad.com everyday, stay tuned because we have some pretty cool stuff going on.

in 2008/09/02/twittad/ on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
This is true Adam and Ezra you both bring up a good point. But perhaps Twitter is working on more of a profile feel for each user, with clickable links to their blogs, pictures and other websites. In that case, user profile views will go up, and so will the value of ad space for each Twitter user.

Thanks for the write up. You bring up a great point that the backgrounds are not clickable.
Currently, Twitter does not allow clickable backgrounds on any of their pages other than links they provide next to the search function. If Twitter allowed clickable ads and stats for page views on a profile that will provide the opportunity to bring a ad network to Twitter. But more importantly allow Twitter users to participate in a revenue share program. Sharing ad revenue with users might be the "go for gold" model for Twitter, to keep up with FriendFeed and others.
There are a lot of changes and partnerships with other sites that use the Twitter API so stay tuned to Twittad.com.
Thanks!

This is a smart idea and I appreciate your smarts for thinking outside of the box!
Thank you for the added income opportunity for us to use our google adsense in our profile.
I just signed up for twittad today, so I'll check to see how that is used.
Hopefully this move will be profitably for you as well; especially being many people are profiting from twitter's big explosion of shared information..
Heads Up to Twittad!

i think a quality metric will be a good idea but you should also take into account the amount and quality of the conversations that twitter users have with their followers (i think that's what you mean by the grade)
i like the category and demographic idea, i think that will be interesting to see. i think some sort of guidance for pricing is definitely going to be good. obviously the advertisers want the cheapest ads they can get, but do they care about the conversations or interactions?
thanks for reading and commenting james, i look forward to seeing how you guys evolve and will check out the blog
