This makes me wish I was back in Madrid--tapas in New York are so limited

Great post, Gabriella, the fair sounds fabulous. I like making mulled wine for holiday parties, but here in the states it's easy to find an "add in" mix from better grocery stores. Cheers, Diane

Allan & Joel,
Thanks tremendously for organizing this conference, which was even better than I imagined. It was dynamic, fun & thought-provoking. Cheers to you both!

in Is it me or is this guy a TOTAL douche bag? on Wine Life Today blog
Joel,
First of all, it was reallynice meeting you this weekend at the conference. In an age of social media, it's nice to socialize in person! Second of all, yeah, his remarks were pretty sarcastic and what's more there were glitches (took me 45 mins to get logged on at live blogging) but we appreciate all your obvious hard work in trying to insure that things went off without a hitch. Thank you so much for setting up the conference, which I enjoyed both on a professional and a personal level.

I just registered for the conference and would like to stay at the hotel. Will I be sent a code for the room reservation to get the conference rate?

Joel, I cracked up reading your summary of my post. Yeah, Calgon, take me away. You'll find the more kids you have (I've got 2) the more you need this ritual. Note: the music helps drown out the chaos beyond the bathroom door. BTW, I'm having a great time over at OWC, thanks for all your efforts.

in Wine Blogging question - Do you have to charge to be considered “professional”? on Catavino
I'm definitely an amateur now...but hopefully not forever. I recently visited Chateau Mouton Rothschild, normally a 24 euro tour, but since I had told them I write a wine blog, they let me in gratis! I consider that my first payment! My situation is slightly different because I am concentrating on wine travel rather than wine tasting alone. I love writing about wine, so that's payment alone suffices.
