Indeed. We spend a lot of time and energy looking for ways to fill the void that non-connection leaves.

You would think, living in the deep south, I wouldn't have these problems! Today is the first sunny day in at least a month. I think I need to leave work early and just BE in it!

That reminds me of high school, when we could convince certain
teachers to hold class outside on nicer days.

I did notice, also noticed your tags of "anticipation" and "closure" - the effect of the tenses and the tags being that it lets me in, a bit - but not all the way in. I know you a little better - but not a LOT better, if that makes any sense.

Oh yes. Freedom is there!! Everything is there - except me! :(

The greatest freedom I've ever found was in getting lost in my own head, but this image really seemed to fit that feeling. It's a shot from a boat I was out on this past weekend.
We only went about ten or so miles out off the Jersey coast, which is probably the first time in my life I've ever lost sight of land from a boat. It was like a whole other world.

I was just saying this morning that I wanted to become a bee keeper - save the honeybee, save the world.
Beautiful!

I think the honey bee dilemma is a near perfect illustration for what I was trying to write, though there are probably a million other suitable analogies. In short, I started off on this one just thinking about how a few missing pieces can affect a whole gigantic jigsaw puzzle.

I know that doesn't make it hurt any less, but yes. Rarely intentional.

Happy Birthday, Howard!!
Such a beautiful philosophy, and it's lovely to know someone who is seeking, as I am.
Blessings

You know (I think!) from reading my blog that I believe in a very personal relationship with God. I think everything is possible and everything is probable!

Or was he one of those angels we hear about - testing our compassion?
Very well written! You took me there - wonderful!

As usual, statistics telling the part of the story that the teller wants you to hear.
There is a perverse poetry in listening to someone twist numbers.
It's harder to twist people, and their stories. That is the truth that matters to me.
Why doesn't it matter to our "leaders?"
Just some random thoughts.

I think because happiness can't be bought, or seen, or held in one's hand, we try to find things to stand in for happiness. Money works great for that! So do cars, big houses, decadent vacations, and beauty.
In the end, people get really tired of hearing that happiness can't be bought, or pursued, or seen. It can be chosen (happiness as choice???? Must blog about that one), it can be felt, it can radiate from the things one does to make the world a better place.
That's hard to use to impress the Joneses.
But it is far, far easier to sleep with at night.

Oddly, in terms of format this one was a slight oversight. I was torn between trimming the third line to make it a strict 5-7-5 and adding a syllable to the first line to make it a 6-7-6. Either way, my intent was to make it symmetrical. Looking at it now, though, I may break with that compulsion and leave it like it is.
On second thought, I'm changing it.
