in Slumdog Millionaire vs Twilight: Celebrities Decide on NewMoonMovie.org
THE MTV AWARDS are for blockbuster films not OSCAR films. Thats why they give the fans a chance to vote and make it happen. I vote for Twilight just for the heck of it.
You guys can still vote for only best movie. Its open.

in Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart: Best Seats at MTV Movie Awards on NewMoonMovie.org
They actually changed the seats. Before ONLY Rob was going to be sitting in the front and Kristen/Taylor in the back. But they put Kristen next to Rob later.

in Bamboozled... the Evangelical Vote and Abortion on ifiblogged
"Over the next four to eight years, as many as five or even six U.S. Supreme Court justices could retire. Obama enthusiastically supports Roe v. Wade and would appoint judges who would protect that morally and constitutionally disastrous decision and even
expand its scope.
Indeed, in an interview in Glamour magazine, he made it clear that he would apply a litmus test for Supreme Court nominations: jurists who do not support Roe will not be considered for appointment by Obama. John McCain, by contrast, opposes Roe and would appoint judges likely to overturn it. This would not make abortion illegal, but it would return the issue to the forums of democratic deliberation, where pro-life Americans could engage in a fair debate to persuade fellow citizens that killing the unborn is no way to address the problems of pregnant women in need."
- above excerpt taken from Robert P. George: McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence and Director of the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University. He is a member of the President's Council on Bioethics and previously served on the United States Commission on Civil Rights. He sits on the editorial board of Public Discourse.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Electing an anit-abortion presidential candidate can and does influence the Supreme Court appointments. With anti-abortion justices, Roe v Wade COULD be overturned and then moved to the state level. North Dakota would certainly be the first state to outlaw this terrible crime against babies. WILL it ever happen...who knows, but the chances are less likely the fewer anti-abortion supreme court justices we have.
Do any of the cadidates REALLY care about the abortion issue?? Probably not, but they probably don't really care about lowering our taxes, the healthcare situation, the enviornment or anything else other than winning. But the few restrictions that remain on abortion and/or stem cell research would certainly be history as more pro-abortion justices enter our Supreme Court.

It's amazing to me that the Right, who has had control of our government for the majority of the past 40 years, and has certainly had a strong hold on our Judicial Branch for at least two decades, can still carry such a persecution complex. We have 7 justices appointed by Republicans, and they haven't, in the past 25 years, felt the urge to overturn Roe. I won't give up hope, but I also won't vote thinking "this is gonna be our year."
The question we should be asking is "what happened to the Republicans?" I am a Republican. it's just that the Republicans are no longer me.

Taking the piss out of myself and my friends with slander, the use of 'ism's (yes, sometimes including sexism) and satire is what the bull of my posts are about. It's self satire.
All your comment says about you is your inability to think any way other than literally, you take things too seriously, and you probably don't find dick and fart jokes funny. Sorry, I mean non-gender specific genital and fart jokes. Wouldn't wanna be sexist, now.
Actually your post has made me reconsider one thing; perhaps having a mission statement that's a bit more clear as to who this blog is for, being those around me that I know personally.

Please ask Charlotte to post an update on Yao Defen as noone seems to know what has become of her. Where is her treatment at? How is she? Is she still alive?etc. Seems a little odd that there hasn't been any foolow up reports.

Slumdog was a blockbuster film; most likely the most celebrated film of 2009. You have to remember Twilight has a target audience. I think Twilight has nothing on Slumdog to be honest, and I hope Slumdog wins. In the end Slumdog helps to open eyes and minds, and delves into the human psych and is honest and compelling. Twilight is a fun movie, but nowhere near as serious as Slumdog.
