I think this potential passing of the zoning is the result of bullying by the developer. This land was zoned for office parks - and was being developed that way until they started pushing commercial on it. The first time the abutters fought it and won should have been enough - they shouldn't have brought the zoning change back year after year after year until the developer gets what they want. To me that is the real crime here: The town was worn down on this one and the only winner is the developer.

Crime, Traffic and Taxes will all go UP and a PRIME piece of office park will be forever destroyed. This is an invitation to a million people a year to come to the town of Merrimack - not all people are bad, but no matter what odds you throw at it - there's gonna be some bad people in Merrimack as a result of this.

Don't be fooled: Most of the people posting in favor of this development are being paid to do so.

This article misses at least 3 years of history. Previous Mall proposals were put in front of this board and denied - primarily due to resident input at public hearings. The developer just kept coming back until they got the verdict they wanted - they have a term for this "Double Jeopardy."

The history of commercial zoning and this land goes back to at least 1999. I refer to the zoning amendments denied by the planning board. Know your history Joe - this is a clear case of a developer trying again and again until they got what they wanted.

I fail to see the draw of dual screens. I've been eReading since I had a PalmIII and never wished I had a second screen. I don't miss the annoying trying to hold a paperback in bed on one side. I eRead on the iPhone now and don't know why anyone needs another device to do this. Perhaps magazines or newspapers - to maintain the advertising model they developed for a large two page format... but if you ask me, I say ditch the format and make it work on an existing device.
