Facebook fans will pay for the choice to retain rights of their personal content. They are figuring it out. Have you seen the notice going around about Facebook using your images in ads, implying you endorse the product or are somehow associated with it?

Also, have you heard that FAcebook sends nasty note and pulls down personal videos and audio including copyrighted content (e.g., daughter playing a Beatles song on the piano) . Would you be willing to pay a sub that included right to use an amount of licensed content on your page?

well said fred.. i totally agree.. not sure if the kindle is purely disruptive, but it's a game changer. it's also great to email PDFs to your kindle (email@kindle.com) and read them there!

What you need is categorized under UPNP and DNLA. You need a music rendering device like the Roku Soundbridge M1001 (I have 2 - and even convinced Baljeet to put one on his wedding registry).

Then you need music server software (I use Twonkyvision, because it can run server side on my NAS, so my PC's don't even need to be on. But it can work with the iTunes Music Server (included with iTunes) as well.)

All my music is stored on a NAS drive (using a Netgear ReadyNas - fans are a little loud).
