I agree with Steven that if people don't want to work, they will figure out a way whether it offline or online.

Re: Bernanke urges Congress to overhaul financial regulatory system

This quote stood out for me:

"Moreover, Congress needs to have better systems for regulators to monitor risks lurking in the financial system."

I am obviously for this idea, RiskKey, but question if the government is ready for what it would be become. This would mean that examiners would be more of system analysts rather than onsite consultants. A data-driven approach seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Re: Senate Bill Would Curtail Bank Overdraft Charges – New York Times

Thanks for the comment David. I agree that overdraft charges are tough subject for both sides and nobody likes to be surprised with fees that didn't know they were going to be charged. I came across an article on financiabrand.com lately that Jeffrey did that came up with some good ideas to the overdraft fees issues.

Here its: http://thefinancialbrand.com/2009/09/23/fixing-...

Re: Gastric Bypass | The Fear Post-Surgery

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your comment and I feel you brother. All I can say is by contributing and being apart of a community to hold you accountable (as well as having friends/family around) is what continues to make yourself successful. Don't be afraid to go to them and say, "Look, you know and I know I've had an issue with my weight, if it gets out of hand, I give you permission to say something to me."

Screw the social norms, this is about your life. Good luck on the surgery and keep us posted.

Also, if you haven't already, join out GB community: http://gastricbypass.ning.com

Re: Old Books

Funny you mention this also, because last night I just finished reading "One
Second After" which is about a huge EMP strike that takes down ALL the
electronic circuitry in the entire USA....about how people have to learn to
survive with no electricity, etc., --- and I thought, Hey, I had better save
this good info "just in case" (shades of Y2K) and then remembered, I AM
READING THIS ON MY KINDLE.....too bad!

Roz

Re: Old Books

Funny you mention this because since I've gotten my Kindle I refuse to even purchase a 'paper-based' book. I may even be interested in an author or particular book but if it's not in the Kindle edition, I'm out. It's so refreshing to just carry around the one device(book) for EVERY book.

Re: Posterous: Full-time Lifestream, Part-Time Blog

Absolutely right Brad. One of the main reasons I stopped using Posterous to post to my blog is because the photos and videos look like crap when translated from Posterous to WordPress. You don't get the gallery or the player on either one.

Thanks for the comment Brad. Hopefully as Posterous sticks around we'll get someone to address this problem for all the people that have decided to use WordPress and Posterous as their main publishing tools.

Re: 5 things the Kindle could do better

testing reply feature via disqus

Re: 5 things the Kindle could do better

Testing comment through disqus.

Re: Posterous: Full-time Lifestream, Part-Time Blog

Hi James,

Completely agree with you here. Talking with Sachin, themes/CSS styles are on their way but I couldn't hammer down an exact time.

Also, another part of the equation I wish was better in the Wordpress/Posterous relationship is taking the audio/video files that get published to Posterous and when autoposted to WP it shows a player instead of a download link. This is more on the WP side, I realize, by needing a plugin but I wish somebody had something to help. Now that Posterous has its API available, maybe somebody will do it. I know I don't have the skillz for it.

Re: Precision.

Another consideration...your blog. You talk yourself out of blogging due to trying to be 'too' precise when, in fact, something a little less so can still be good.

And continuing in that mindset, by being ok with 'good' your effect includes not only you but your readers as well. Keep it up!

Re: Invisible is here

Nice post and that Clay Shirky quote is simply genius.

From my standpoint, the association executives that I talk with think this technology is indeed invisible but not in an ubiquitous way, in a "I don't use it or see the need for it" sort of way. I spend a great deal of time still making the introductions. Now I don't mind doing that...we always have something to learn but for the assc. exec there still seems to be a long road ahead.

Re: Gastric Bypass | Hitting a Plateau

Hi Norma,
I can't do anything about your login, I don't control that part of it. Just make sure to use your old email address to get in and then go into your settings and update it to the new email address afterwards.

FYI, tried to send to your new Yahoo address and got an email failure. Difficult to set a hard and fast rule I think IMHO. :)

Re: Betting on the future - Part 2

Testing Disqus commenting system.

Re: You say it’s my birthday?

Happy birthday Jake!
